Looking at your recent additions really make me kick myself for not jumping on my own painting. I love the use of space wolves heads for your helmet-less marines they are more aggressive looking then the bowl cut BA ones we get. Do you put the chapter symbol on the shoulder pads of your DC?

Cheers muchly fellas :)

I do indeed, can't be seen in the last two all action poses but I do. My Flesh Eaters follow the Blood Angel doctrine for colour code for both Death Co and Sanguinary Guard, just feels more fluffy to me :D

....and Death Co have the best colour scheme in 40k. Sorry, but they do :p

Hope in Death

Sanguinius felt nothing but contempt for the traitors before him. The true sadness in his hearts had turned to a rage he felt towards his 'Brother', and it flowed through him like his very life blood, coursing though his veins. They would pay an expensive tithe for turning from his father to the banner Horus Luprecal. They would feel the rage. The pain. The power of a Primach. "None shall stay my Wrath" he thought unto himself ignoring his wounds as he cursed his war cry, descending like an avenging Angel, the demi-God of rage.

Many of the traitors turned to run as he made his impact. The bark of ineffectual weapons of those that stayed having no effect on his armour. He jumped from the crumpled heap of what was left of the traitor he landed on into the next, his sword elegently removing the head of the betrayer. In as many seconds, he cut down five more; removing limbs and heads in a sea of crimson. He crushed one's skull with a back handed swipe of his pistol, before slicing one from shoulder to groin with one strike.

His long mane stuck to the blood which covered the skin upon his face. He licked his fangs as the thirst grew strong. The tang of blood mixed with betrayal filled the air as he went about his red work. His mind felt addled with the hatred of a Primarch. Cutting, slicing, butchering. None would survive. His focus switched to the remaining foes that were running and thrust himself airborne to catch the traitorous whelps....

"None shall stay my Wrath!!"

---------------

The Death Company. Kano could not believe his eyes. The ashen black armoured astartes, fully ten of them, their blood curdling roars drowning out their jump packs as they descended from the air. Unlike some others of the Cult of the Unholy Eye, he turned to run. The sound of autoguns firing intermingled with the roar of chainwords and axes. Swiftly the autogun fire fell silent, the sound of the blades rending the screaming cultists limb from limb in tune with the roars of the crazed astartes. Kano kept running - he dared not look back at what must be a charnel house. As he ran, he heard raucous bellowing in a language he didn't understand, and the gunning of jump packs in his direction. They were coming.....

Turning to face his pursuers for his last moments he tried to bring his autogun to bare. Before he could however, intense pain, feeling almost ice cold, ran though his stomach area. Dropping his autogun he instinctively tried to hold his innards from dropping out the gaping wound the front of his body had become. Not noticing his protruding ribs, he tried to fall to his knees. "By the Dark Gods, please" his voice gurgling and wet. The giant astartes looming over picked him up with one hand and held him clear of the floor. It must have only been a split second, but it felt like eternity as he took his killers features in. The helmet-less marines lank, black hair was slick with blood and sweat. A bionic eye glowed green from underneath. Large fangs protruded from his gaping maw. But it was his non-augmented eye. Never, even with the traitor astartes he worked for, had he seen such an eye. Irisless, red with a fiery rage. Crazed. It was as if his mind was not really there due to his blood frenzy. Kano wished for death to take him. His wish came true as the Death Company marine sunk his fangs deep into the cultists throat.

--------------

Sanguinius dropped the prone form of the traitor as his wings bore him aloft again. The taste of his blood, whet his appetite for more. He was Primarch of the Blood Angels. Tempered weapon of his Father, the Lord of mankind. By the Emperor himself, he would find Horus and the arch traitor would repent. His primordial rage took over as he went for his next victim.

"None shall stay my wrath!!"

Edit - Think I need to do something with his Chapter symbol*blushes*

^Challenge Completed^ :biggrin.: I really enjoyed painting these five dudes, Death Company are, like, my favourite unit in the whole of 40k and the reason I play sons of Sanguinius....and the are oh so fluffy for an afflicted Chapter like the Flesh Eaters. So what of the remaining jump packs? Here they are on the rest of the squad (I do believe they haven't had close ups in this thread yet anyways.

Bare in mind that they get used on the table often and have done for a few years, Brother Nestors' bloody fist has seen better days and needs repairing:-

Obligatory squad shot, waiting for vindicator template.....

Hope you like them, if you don't they will come for you and they will eat your face

Thanks Cretheus :smile.: Have a mug shot of your soon to be nemesis

2nd Company Voivode Captain, Valek the Terrible

Why I here you say? Kind of a mini-update (in other words, I liked the photo!). We are about to start a Campaign at our club so I have painted a new sword for Valek the Terrible to count as 'Valours Edge'; the AP2 Power Sword from the BA 'dex. For the campaign he is running as a boggo Captain with Jump Pack/Articifer Armour/'Valours Edge', and this was his photo for the Warlord Mugshot. Fluffwise it is called the 'Spada Lunga' which is Slavic for 'Bastard Sword', which dates back to Vlad the Impaler dontcha know.

Interesting fact: I normally run him as an angry version of Dante via the power of magnets!

If you want to have a closer look at the campaign preparation take a look here: FLINTSHIRE GAMING CLUB:CAMPAIGN (The Seige of Golgotha IV)

Next few updates will be weapon options, then on to the Drop Pods!
