Wulfebane's WIP Projects (Pic Heavy!)

So a few comments on your last few projects, i've been meaning to comment on your thread for a few weeks, but kept getting sidetracked.

I really like the "powerspear" looks sleek and deadly. When considering the spear it's a stabbing weapon more so than a slashing weapon and this verson looks dead on to me. The chain spear not so much, personally I see the chain sword as a slashing weapon not a stabbing one, and I don't really see the connecting when makeing it into a spear. Thats just me, and personal preference, once you paint it I'll still probly drool over it :)

The kneeling greyhunter kicks a$$, and makes me want to stab you all at the same time. I get a little green with envy from time to time.

The rino and razorback are comeing along nicely...

Ragnar is ofcourse outstanding....

Thanks everyone for the comments on my Ragnar. Combined with my Two-blade conversion, he's my favorite, and most in-depth conversion I've undertaken so far.

@Brother Mjollner - yeah, I can agree with that to a degree.. but there's also the potential for chainsword blades to slash people down during the chase Ala gladiatorial chariot style. Plus, sword points being "sleek" is a break from the SW image, so i had to toss some chainblades in. :)

....and now for a taste at one of my next urges to paint. It's been gnawing at me to get started, but now that I have, he'll likely get put to the side for a month.

I don't know if it's how you posed him or if it was simply an oversight on my part when the model came out - but your Arjac looks brilliant mate.

Honestly I wasn't happy the model's pose at first either. Tossing that rock under his foot made it 15x better in my eyes and added a better sense of movement to him.

First, the Ragnar conversion rocks, and the Arjac looks like it's only going to be better. I think we've got different ideas on armor color, but otherwise, particularly with the head/flesh work, you're doing what I hope to do once I learn how to paint.

One question with regards to the TWC power-spear-of-renown: What width is the copper pipe you're using for the shaft? It's literally goldilocks in terms of not too weedy, not to bulky, and even if I don't to power-glaives or the like, just being able to make fast-and-loose standards or some harpoon-like close combat weapons with that stuff would make my life a heck of a lot easier.

I can't even count on two hands the amount of people I've seen with similar armor schemes/formulas. It's what makes us the best army, I guess! B)

As for the tubing, I lost the label for the pack, but comparing to my drill bits, looks like the closest match is 1/16th diameter. Hope that helps!

...and as always, thanks for the comments everyone!

Got some new updates!

This month in my Builder's League, I'm needing to bring some OBEL scouts to support my list. As of yet, I've only ever made a pack of sniper scouts, so I was needing some stock loadout Wolf Scouts (and 1 melta)... so here they are!

Still needing to smooth the shoulderpads, but otherwise I'm happy with them.

C&C welcome!

Despite the last guy's appearance, I have not even begun to contemplate painting these guys, so don't bother critiquing his weak paint job.

Thanks for looking!

jesus and holy hell! - those are brilliant my good sir! if I may, I would rather like to learn [read steal and failingly attempt to recreate] from your work, it's genuinely inspiring and certainly makes me want to [for want of a better real word] 'viking-ise' my own sadly highly imperial looking scouts (although I do only have 10 and they run bolters/heavy bolters) - if you hadn't already noticed, I rather like them haha very good work.

p.s. I sincerely expect more.... much more

Very, very nice work!

Excellent use of parts, and I particularly like the back of the melta-scout: the cloth/pouches from a CSM (right?) partially covering one of the big scout blades. Excellent stuff...will have to steal that

Quick update. I only had one cloaked scout this time, so decided to get it out of the way.

Holy cracker brother - I'm guessing you use modern camouflage as inspiration? that's one damningly good cloak, the whole model looks great

I can't wait to see more :D - p.s. I can't see any imperfections :)

Eh, the edges are a bit ragged. Keeping with the modern camo theme, the lines would be more crisp.

@Blackcat - I switch/blend between GW and P3 paints, but if I were to use only GW, I'd start with a dark flesh, like Tallarn flesh, then wash with Ogryn wash. After dried, I'd layer with successively lighter shades. Lightest I ever go on Wolves is a 1:1 of Dwarf and Elf flesh, but for elders like Rune Priests or say.. the Inquisition, I miiight go as light as a mix of Bleached Bone with a light flesh tone. For the lighter flesh, I also sometimes go back in and lightly touch the shadows with a thinned purple wash.
