I have my ten man squad started. They are together base coated and have a wash on them. They are going a little slower than I was planning as I am in the process of remodeling and moving. But I should be in my new house in a week or so and have time to finish painting my guys.
Trying to get my motivation back after the Spray Primer disaster. That and the fact that after this miniature, I'm done entirely with the hobby aspect of 40k. My motivation has been kinda shot.

I know I haven't signed up - but what talk is this? Defeatism? Does the honour of the VII Legion not hold sway in your heart brother? Courage! Did Rogal Dorn himself resign after the imposition upon his Legion of the Codex Astartes? Nonsense!

Is your armour battered and broken? Fight on! Does not the Ancient Rhetoricus teach us:

"Do we bemoan such losses? No! We are the Fists! We do not need to hibernate or spit venom! We CRUSH our enemies."

And again:

"Dispair is an illusion of the mind".

This is your pain glove Brother - you must push on through it and act, realise the vision of our Primarch. A strong legion, a worthy Chapter, a noble, ever growing Brotherhood.

Spray primer fails - FISTS DO NOT!

Thanks for the pep talk Mazer Rackham :) .

My vow has stalled ( along with the rest of my hobby over the last few weeks ) but hopefully with the four day weekend coming up here in the UK ( God save the Queen ! ) I hope to find some time to start the next stage.

No probs! I too am of the Isle of Albion and I particularly despise bunting...

BUT!

Well met - and press on good Fist, for in glory shall the Primarch clad thee! (And then I will shut the hell up)

I've been rather slack if I'm honest. My Dorn's been mostly finished for aaaaaaaaages, all thats left is his base and his eyes and some minor tidy up.

I'll get back to it next week probably, I've been busy assembling some FW goodies for the DA painting challenge.

Cheers,

Jono

GW's pricing is the killer of my armies. It's not defeatism, but rather, unabletoaffordism.

Unfortunately I have a huge stockpile of models glaring at me from there seclusion in the shed. Despite my progress this year, I've only made a small dent. Though I do agree with the affordability sentiments, it at least means I can't get any more (famous last words).
Unfortunately I have a huge stockpile of models glaring at me from there seclusion in the shed.

I'm sure some of the brothers on here would be willing to help you make a bigger dent in that stockpile haha! I fear for my completion as well as I changed work shifts and have zero time for much hobby anymore. Oh such is life :)

Well, we have 18 days left to the end of June, and then +1 day as the challenge says 31st of June. How is everyone going? Are we going to have anyone who finished their vow?

I have only two terminators and Dorn left to do, so I'm hopeful that I can get the time to get it done.

On another note, those people who missed out could always lend their hand to the E Tenebrae Lux challenge. Anyone other Fists signing up for that?

I can only really focus on one challenge at a time really, which is why I vowed to only do my incomplete Hestan model for that challenge, and depending on how things go I might increase with either with Tactical squads or terminators squads.

Good luck!

Good luck to all the yellow Marines! Shame I missed the sign up for this one - but there will be a next time!

On a side note, has anyone used the Crimson/Imperial Fist shoulde pads from GW? I only ask as I was looking at getting some and was wondering if they are still significantly smaller than the plastic pads or have GW managed to scale them up correctly.

I only use them. I don't use decals fro this army, so I use the molded pads. These are the ones I use and they are the normal size for pads.

Thats a bonus then! I remember years ago when I ordered some DA ones they were that small that they looked like Scout shoulder pads.

I'll order some of those and some other bits too - might as well take it to over £10 for the free postage :)

Regretfully I'm going to have to bow out, too much has come up at the moment and I will not be able to finish the Dread in time. Perhaps later on the Dread will be clad in yellow, but sadly not in the forseeable future. I exit my personal Pain Glove at last.
