The best thing about using the Grey Knight codex is being able to field both their allies (before 6th edition allies) which I'm currently working on; first off the Legio Cybernetica Robots using a very old model with a few tweaks...

Then the regal Prospero Spire Guard created using high elves, guard and drop trooper bits, the plasma cannon servitor conversions was inspired by this 40k sentry gun tutorial.

My first conversion project, a 5 man addition to the finecast Sternguard squad.

Made of assault marine bodies (I thought the jump pack straps would make for a suitable gear harness), scout bits, a whole host of various ammo packs, purity seals, grenades and sidearms. Cut a few new poses and made combi-meltas based on tutorials here on the B&C.

All together

Volfen, I like those combi-meltas! The left-hand one (mainly melta-gun with a bit of bolter on top) is particularly nice and original.

For what it's worth, I'll throw in some of my conversions:

First up, Chaplain Corvidae Adept Exemptus Khaldun. Jump pack removed for these photos.

gallery_63428_6618_116548.jpg

gallery_63428_6618_25302.jpg

Base is the finecast jump pack chaplain.

The top of the crozius was removed and the crosshatched detailing of the shaft filed away, then I used the edge of a file to `section` it. The top of the nekhakha (Egyptian-style flail) was made with some decorative chain from a shop over here called Yuzawaya (the have all kinds of chain, including some knot-like ones that would be great for Space Wolves and crosses for Black Templars).

The skull-mouth area of his face was smoothed away with liquid Green Stuff.

The skull between the wings on his right shoulder pad was replaced with a bird skull from the vulture in the Tomb Kings tomb guard set (a treasure trove of bits for Thousand Sons!).

All purity seals were replaced with scarab-esque ones made from GS.

The bolt pistol was removed and replaced with a bolter, slightly bulked up to accommodate the barrel chopped off a melta-gun.

The large purity seal and paper on the side of the combi-melta are both GS.

Second, librarian Har-Khebu.

gallery_63428_6618_78237.jpg

Base is the book and staff librarian.

Staff was cut off and replaced with a paper clip shaped into the basic heqa staff (crook) shape, which was then built up with GS. A small rectangle of GS was added to the side of the haft as a control panel (as cables are molded onto the right arm and had no where to go without it).

The jade skull being summoned was made from the front piece of a horn from the tomb guard kit. The rest was, similar to the heqa staff, a core of a paper clip and then GS, with a toothpick used to make the indentations.

Holstered pistol from (IIRC) command squad kit. Back banner from either the same kit or the tactical squad kit.

Lastly, giving up the Blood Bowl field for the battlefield, we have captain Ramtut.

gallery_63428_6618_65489.jpg

gallery_63428_6618_104865.jpg

Base is the metal Tomb Kings Blood Bowl starplayer Ramtut.

GS used to smooth-over and bulk up limbs, then added tabard and seals/seal-papers.

Backpack and banner from either the command or tactical squad kit.

The (right) forearm mounted auxiliary grenade launcher is from a plastic melta-gun.

The storm shield is from the tomb guard kit, as are two halberds put together to form his relic blade (inspired by the scepter of Qetesh in Collected Visions).
