The Eagles Spire - Semper Fidelis Eagles Eternal

Recommended Posts

ill appologize now if the picture quality is poor.

this is for my chapter, the Eagles Eternal. i hope this blog will help keep me on track and working on them.

starting with my chapter master, i decided to sculpt the chapter badge instead of free handing it. then i added wings to it. (had a picture with out the wings, but its cruddy, so we will pretend i dont.)

Your GS skills a very good, but IMOP I think the thigh GS looks like big armour flexing, I take it you are trying to simulate MRK II armour? If so, it's too thin and clashes too much with the flexing at the hip area.

Maybe do only two armour over laps?

Hope that helps?

I'm feeling like im not 100% on the thigh portion of the armor, an I'm wondering if I want to repeat it on the other side. Could I please get some feed back on this?

It does look a little bit too much like 50s scifi movie robot legs. Don't know how you could fix it, but it makes it look like the whole upper leg is made out of the soft armor from the joints. Otherwise though, your GSing is very good elsewhere.

I spent some time thinking last night, and along with there being too many ( going to try two tonight) I realized its also too big. My original idea was just a slight overlap, and I'm going to try and recreate that tonight when I get home from work.

I'll post a pic when finished

so i did a little bit of work, and i started by adjusting one side of my shoulder pad, i think it looks alot better, but then i ruined it with some purity seals. the next two pictures are of the legs, which ive tried youre idea of only having two sets on the right leg. it came out awesome, but i still wanted to wait to have a comparison.

and for the final picture, i saw this on Olekkkkk's custodian army, and thought i had to try and remake it, so with his permission...

I bought a 14 piece set from my local gaming store. I think it's made by gale force nine? It's really helped improve my work, I used to just use a razor and a drimmel tool

Edit: I've actualy fixed the left leg to match the right, but it's not really worth updating it with a picture right now. Just know that they look the same

The right thigh looks much better than the left less plates is definitely better. Your GS skills are very impressive as well. You should look into getting some color shapers too as they seem to help a bit with sculpting.

i would like to appologize for the small amount of update done per post. this is going to be my chaptermaster and i want it to look good, and youre advise has helped me greatly. also i appologize for the fact that there will be no paint for another 3 months.

did some more work to the left leg, this leg is just about done. the last thing ill do is make a new chin splint.

My green stuffing started with just making straps. Then I stated a DnD campaign and bought some honey badgers, so I looked up a tutorial to make the fur look better. After a few of these I made armor for one

I just came back to this and it seems with a good set of tools I can do alot
