The Eagles Spire - Semper Fidelis Eagles Eternal

Recommended Posts

im planning to add one more eagle to the right knee pad. but im thinking i want it to be one of the brass ones from forge world. im a little worried that it being crafted by machine will make it stand out as better then the ones ive done, and point out flaws in the ones ive made myself.

well, ive finished building the chapter master, though i may put another seal or two on him (his bolter and either his sword or the scabbard) you cant see the harness i made for the scabbard but ill get a picture of that later.

may i present to you, Chapter Master O'Bannon of the Eagles Eternal

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn74/Lastdogdead/002-9.jpg

O'Bannon was the first marine to be recruited from the Eagle's home world of Fidelis. He rose quickly though the ranks, and was hand chosen by the previous chaptermaster to lead the chapter. His armor is adorned with Eagles to inspire thoes under his command. O'Bannon is an expert shot, and supurb quickdraw, he may fire his relic storm bolter twice in one turn. the Sword he carrys with him is a powerful relic, that doubles his strength in combat, however it was designed more as a symble of power, and so he strikes last with it (like a power fist)

Chapter Master O'Bannon is a counts as Predo Kantor. (alternitivly, he may be used as his younger self, when he was captain of the second company)

for more of the Eagle's Fluff, check out my IA, in my sig. for now, i give to you a sneak preview of my current project. two marines from 3rd squad, second company.

a close up of the Sgt.

i ran out of ideas for conversions. i still have some ideas, but i wanted to save them for a sternguard squad or something stronger. im also a little concerned that each and every one of them might not be standing up right, and the plasma gunners arms might not give him a good pose. you may notice theres a number of roman numeral 3's, this is denoting the squad number. the number 2 on the sgt;s right knee is the company number. im thinking i may put a few roman 3's on some bolters and or back packs as well.

thoughts and comments? i'll go ahead and post this but i just realised there is a number of small details i had ment to add so, this squad is not finished yet.

edit: one of the pictures was aweful, so i got rid of it.

alright, so my attempted update yesterday didnt stick. i realise that the picture was too far away. to correct this, ive taken individual shots of each model. but first, i made some finishing touches.

in order of highest rank to lowest. (names are after people who have shaped my life in some way or another. or sometimes historical figures who ive learned lessons from)

Veteran SGT Bryant (still minus his powerfist, sorry)

Love the scuplted knee pads and III's. Good poses as well. Love the grenade thrower, classic WWII pose and US military SOP. Still remember it from my days in basic. Cant wait to see some paint on these guys!

Thanks for the comments, I can't wait to see them painted either

By the end of Augest I hope to have at least a basic layer of paint for the regulars, and the commander finished by then.

As far as the terminators I'm thinking I'll add some squad numbers, terminator crosses, and maybe an eagle perhaps two. I don't want to be too fancy with them, but I don't want to be plain either. I'm still on te fence about doing battle damage.

Oh, and a few helmet conversions. This may take a few days. I'll have to look into terminator armor variants to see if there's any other GS work I can do

thanks for youre guys support. youre really guilting me into having to think up something better for the terminators now. thanks for pushing me on.

getting to see them emerging from a T-Hawk is whats driving me on to do better things. i might have to make a few squads spicificly for disembarking the Hawk. running marines forming a gun line around the target zone. >:D

  • 2 weeks later...

aside from trying to angle his chest a bit more, i thought i would work on his legs. i made the bottem part a bit more box like in the front, and added some more weight to the thighs. almost like if you where going to make them true scale. tomorrow i might try to add some scroling to his leg, and maybe a half wreath on his chest. possible an eagle some where.

im not going to do the entire squad like this, just him.
