The Eagles Spire - Semper Fidelis Eagles Eternal

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the comments guys. I have to figure out how to make the top thing look like its emitting light.

It is indeed a different blue, it's actualy the first highlight I use on normal Marines. For some reason I felt like it was standard for Liberians to use a shade roughly around that color. Then I just went really heavy on the highlights.

My next project (undecided at the moment)at take a while, as I am moving at the end of the month.

Well brothers, it's a new year (as of a month ago) and so I think I should start a new vow. I replace that one that I stopped doing a few months ago. So here it is.

Every workday in which I have free time after work, I will accumulate 30 minutes of "hobby" time. On days I have off, I will accumulate a full hour. At the end of a normal week in which I found time to do non hobby related events, I will owe 4.5 hours of hobby time, which must be completed before the end of the week.

I, War Angel, vow to maintain this method of continuing progress, for the glory of the Emperor, and the Eagles Eternal. Should I fail in my duties, I then forfit all other free time into "hobby" time, for one weekend.

(Hobby time is defined as painting, or crafting, models for the Eagles Eternal Space Marines Chapter only)

These times may be changed, but seeing as I'm moving at the end of the month, and currently at sergeants course, these times will have to do. Working overtime is encouraged. Time blocks under an hour will carry over into the next week (30 minutes isn't enough time to put proper effort into it). I will not be posting weekly any more, as i would like to have more substanince to my updates. so what do you guys think?

I wanted to post this earlyer today, but I figured I would wait until I finished my Libby, so here he is in all his glory!

I went for an ivory look to reflect the Mamluke Sword...

The key to success in something like this is accountability. So I started a log book so I can hold myself accountable for what happens, and also see my progress. It was much simpler to pull myself off the TV today knowing I hadn't met quota. And once I started I soon found myself having painted for two hours. I'm really having high hopes on this tactic, even though its only been a week.

Here's my log book so far.

And a brief glance of what was accomplished.

It's all coming together like buttcheeks.

Thank you Brother, I had my wife take a picture so I can show that all the doors look roughly the same. Sorry for picture quality.

Sadly I am painting them one by one at this point, otherwise im spending hours painting a single color untill I go insane. But thank you, I'm eagerly looking forward to having these things done to the standard that I am reaching.

I know how that feels dude, layering yellow on a super heavy by hand took three days. Good job I had a pretty lazy weekend to get it done in!
