G8Keeper
I do love a fully decal'd up Dark Angel. Are you using the bases they come with? Can't quite tell. Standard bases just with some extra bling stuck on. elmo
The landspeeder vengeance has turned up. My brain is ticking over on replacing the pulpit gunner with a turret. Planning to magnetise between the plasma storm battery and icon of old caliban. Lostrael
Magnetising the Icon of old caliban is a good idea. These small sword breaks of too easily. elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5472155 Share on other sites
Fierce Bear
I just finished doing the same thing last week Elmo, if you wanted an idea of how it looks? I've magnetised the icon/plasma battery and the heavy bolter/assault cannons. Think removing the guy from the pulpit helps actually like this model. / Galloway, Chaplain Raeven, elmo and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5472337 Share on other sites
elmo
I have put off buying this as I hate the pulpit gunner but finally took the plunge. Fierce Bear, thanks for showing me yours. It gets me going in the right direction. I am planning a proper "tank" type turret similar but smaller to the predator turret. I will have to see how it goes. On holiday at the moment but it will all be kicking off next week and I will make sure to upload loads of wip photos for anyone who may be interested. Fierce Bear
Turret on the back instead of the 'Organ Player'? Interesting!! Enjoy your break! elmo
Not quite. The turret will be replacing the pulpit. The rear end will stay the same. elmo
Thanks Brothers Work has begun on the Ravenwing Darkshroud / Land Speeder Vengeance. The Plasma Storm Battery and Icon of Caliban have been magnetised. This was fairly simple and only took 6 magnets. The pulpit gunner is being removed and replaced by a turret fitted with a magnetised Heavy Bolter / Assault Cannon as I do not like the aesthetic of a gunner in the nose. At the moment the mounting ring has been lowered to keep the turret as low as possible and work has started on forming the shape of the turret itself. Hopefully it will work and look ok Edited February 9, 2020 by elmo Galloway and painting.for.my.sanity 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5474564 Share on other sites

Berzul
Might be too think on the panels? Or maybe it is too armored, for the relative size of the chasis itself? elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5476161 Share on other sites
elmo
It does look a little too large. The plan was to make it the same diameter as the pulpit recess but I may shave a bit more of the bulk off. Originally I was going to use a Devilfish chin turret but as this is a dome it did not fit with the angular chassis. Hey-ho back to the sandpaper I go Edited February 12, 2020 by elmo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5476168 Share on other sites
Berzul
Yeah, it's round, but it DOES fit in a lot better in terms of size. Can you craft a boxier one, that retains some of this size? THat would look pretty good I think. elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5476175 Share on other sites
elmo
I will get on to it this weekend and see what I can come up with. I think I can take off 3-5 mm all round which could make all the difference... Another option may be a lower Baneblade sponson turret. elmo
In between playing with the turret I have also been able to get some painting done. The Intercessors are complete And 2 sets of easy build Intercessors are about 90% done with just some small details to go. Now off to my painting corner to carry on sanding the turret :( Galloway, Grand Master Belial and Bjorn Firewalker 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5477069 Share on other sites

elmo
Priming has begun on the Ravenwing Darkshroud / Land Speeder Vengeance. The Plasma Storm Battery and Icon of Caliban have been magnetised. The pulpit gunner has been removed and replaced by a turret fitted with a magnetised Heavy Bolter / Assault Cannon as I do not like the aesthetic of it. After a previous attempt and on receiving constructive criticism (thanks Brothers :) ), the size of the turret has been reduced to the point where I am happy to start painting. And I just found another 3 Intercessors to add to the previous 6 :) Galloway and BrotherAtrox 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260687-elmos-seemingly-constant-wip/page/44/#findComment-5477406 Share on other sites
