Sgt. Blank Call of Chaos V December Update #2

 

Here's a link to my latest work on the three units I pledged. I've made good progress this month, especially on the Plague Marines, but haven't finished any of the three units yet.

I'm really trying to push it as I'd like to have this second pledge done in the next few days, so there will probably be at least one more December update tomorrow!

Even closer to the deadline than last month unfortunately. Work has been hell, but I'm not giving up. Whether Slannesh finds me unworthy by the end remains to be seen. Anyway, update time. I need to pass out here for a while and try to get some paint on a model before heading back into the fray...

As promised, December Update #2 is up right before I have to go clean my car off (damn snow) and go to work.

 

I does give me an idea though just now of doing a Khornate army that's not on some barren desert rock full of skulls, but on a Space Wolf style frozen planet as blood on the snow would be a neat contrast to attempt...but that can be a project for another call.

I am having to drop out of the Call of Chaos.

 

I am very unhappy with how the conversions I was doing were turning out, and I've been avoiding them this month. Moving forward would have just meant being unhappy with even more than just the three I've already done. I'm still going to do the sergeant and the Warpsmith, but I'm going to need to approach the 9 CSM from a different angle. This will put that project off until this summer, when I will have the time and resources to do them justice. Which puts me out of the Call of Chaos by default.

 

On the bright side, I'll get to create and paint a random spawn now! :D

DECEMBER UPDATE 2

 

didn't get the bikers done because we went to visit family, but here is where they stand right now. close but not yet done. still taken with my phone as they are not done, so the picture of bike squad one is not the best. but the characters turned out better.

Call of Chaos V - December Update 7


Marathon paint day today! Started this guy last night after my last update, and while he's not quite finished I figured he was good enough for one final December update! Still need toe nails, skull on autocannons, and smokestacks finished as well as some minor touch ups:

I didn't update anything in december due to kids, wife or me being ill. While i still managed to do a little bit of painting i'm way behind my schedule now. January looks like it will be a busy month at work so i won't be able to do much painting.

 

So i have to admit defeat.

Failure! Bitter, bitter failure!

 

I don't know what was wrong with me - I just couldn't bring myself to even pick up a paintbrush for almost the whole of December. It does happen from time to time, but not usually when I'm in the middle of a painting challenge.

 

I'll most likely sign up for the next call (with appropriate penitent units added, of course).

Final update posted. All my units are done, though I suppose I will post another update mid January just to keep up with two updates per month.
When you're done you're done, unless you want to pledge additional items that is. :)

Typhus finally arrived cleaned and glued no conversions or paint yet so wont bother with pics.

 

will get to painting as soon as glue drys...... :)

Mighty CHAOS! Hear my cry!

Help me not be first to die!

 

I was just writing my disagreement with being set to the Fallen. I have checked my album because I have been sure I have sent 2 updates per month. However it seems that I have failed to post first december update. It was quite harsh at work and at home as well and it seems I have been too busy and somewhere in my mind I forgot to post update. I hope the Gods will not punish me with spawndom.

Call of Chaos V - January Update 1


Today I have completed my second Call of Chaos Pledge by completing a Helbrute and a second squad of 10 Alpha Legion Marines:

So, with 15 days left in the call, I believe that the Dark Gods are compelling me to push it to the limit, therefore:

Gods of Chaos hear my call!

I Danny Cyanide hereby pledge my soul, my allegiance and that of my troops', to Chaos Eternal.

I swear to you that I will paint and present 1 Unit of 10 CSM, 1 unit of Havocs and 10 cultists of the Iron Warriors Legion, before January 18th, 2013.
I also promise to provide a project update, at least twice per month.
