NightHunters
Sadly I don't game much so can't help you there but good to see you back on your marines! Lovely Raider interior and Ginger Beer and Double deckers are most certainly the only official snax for the emperors finest. Om to the Nom! Brother Lionheart
Sadly I don't game much so can't help you there but good to see you back on your marines! Lovely Raider interior and Ginger Beer and Double deckers are most certainly the only official snax for the emperors finest. Om to the Nom! Thankyou, brother! Only took me just over a year of moping about and for some reason painting white as a main colour (White Scar veterans will understand how old that gets) for me to come to my senses... Anyway, update time! Today; drop-pod numero uno. http://i.imgur.com/iqgspdzl.jpg And with the finished (for now) Sternguard, http://i.imgur.com/gNkjdo9l.jpg I wanted to give the bottom a blasted and heated look to reflect the fact that it was just shot from high orbit, without losing the bulk of the chapter colours (My camera's flash makes it look brown. I'll hopefully get some better images later on down the line). Similarly, I didn't want it to look too ornate, as I see Drop Pods being very mass-produced. They're shells for the Marines inside to ride out re-entry, then if they can't be picked up afterwards, big whoop. Or something. Next up is the Land Raider, then I'll see about a group pic. Comments and criticism welcome as always~ For the Emperor! Brother Lionheart
Good looking pod nice ride for the Squad. Sweet rhymes, thankyou! Ah the joys of painting white! Well welcome back, love the burnished look on the bottom of the pod, very very nice! And landraider you say, most exciting! For the emperor brother! My thanks, brother. Yes, the Land Raider is coming along. It's one of those giant projects I'm picking at but I can tell you all the basic colour is done. Meanwhile, more Sternguard http://i.imgur.com/4uQfFbkl.jpg?1 I used the Dark Angels veterans box, with some equipment and parts from the Sternguard squad. The idea is to be able to make the drop poding squad up to 10, who can combat squad out into one lot of tank-busters and one with a heavy flamer and various bolter rounds. http://i.imgur.com/ykyfEGsl.jpg?1 A quick memorial for veteran brother Bendy-flamer, sacrificed for my new project. Originally, I had someone else's multi-melta armed devastator and converted him into a heavy flamer for the Sternguard. Now, just to be awkward, I'm making it back into a multi-melta: http://i.imgur.com/3yAsFsWl.jpg?1 These guys are a counts-as Legion of the Damned squad, armed with a meltagun and multi-melta. They're teleporting-in tankbusters who ignore cover (pretty much because Wave Serpents). The idea is that they were some kind of joint Adeptus Mechanicus project that involved teleporting Space Marines across the battlefield and managed to get lost in the warp as a result. They turn up as ghostly spectres from time to time, to help with a battle. Colour scheme should be fun... Anyway, until next time, kill in the name of the Emperor! Brother Lionheart
Update: Land Raider 99% done, group photo time! http://i.imgur.com/1oJhBAVl.jpg Took me long enough. All this bad boy needs now are possibly some decals. I'm worried that might clutter it up though. http://i.imgur.com/p4hn0fr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UQhxsmY.jpg Got the boys lined up for a family photo, too. When did I get another fully-painted army? (Only my third... shush, don't tell anyone!) http://i.imgur.com/obYTsIN.jpg And some more Land Raider. I name it Perdition's Blade. Here it is delivering hell to the Tau's doorstep! The Land Raider, Perdition's Blade belongs to the Sword's of Korhal 4th company. Being possessed of both heavy armour and heavy armament, it excells in both long-ranged support, able to trade blows with all but the heaviest materiel, and up close, delivering a payload of assault troopers to the heart of the enemy. In this role, it usually supports the Tactical squad, Scimitar, either delivering them to an important objective or getting them to within close assault distance of the foe unharmed. Rarely, the Terminator squad Flamberge will embark upon the tank, for when a greater armoured punch is required to smite the foe. The Perdition's Blade is viewed as a moving bastion by the 4th and has endured more campaigns than the company's veterans remember. It has collected so many honours and trophies along the way that it is more like a trundling shrine than a battle-tank. It is a common sight to see even non-Techmarine brothers to pray to the machine spirit before a battle, asking as much for its protection and benediction as for it to perform well as a machine. More group shots to come. Please let me know what you think, brothers! Input and feedback is always welcome. -For the Emperor!
