Appreciate it Sarge

I just feel like ADB did it to cheese off the sons of Russ that frequent these forums, which i think is awesome LOL no wonder he took the sabbatical from these places.

If that was his reason than thats pretty lame, however I am sure he is not that lame

I doubt that is the case too, especially when you read his notes post-epilogue. I have to admit I'm a big fan of those as they help to shed some light on the thought processes that go on behind what is put on paper.

I would imagine that if it were done just to piss off SW fanboys then it wouldn't have been teased out in such a fashion (how Khârn and Skane saw it and then how Lhoke (sp?) the Dread saw it) and wouldn't have been a very central plank of helping to explain part of Angron's character. The bit where Lorgar has to put it into context for Angron is hilarious.

'We won - I beat up Russ and they ran away.'

'Russ had all of the guns pointed at you and you could have died. Then they left of their own accord.'

But, but, I beat up Russ and they ran away.'

Betrayer is a masterfully-written piece and arguably the best of the Heresy books so far: go and read it.

I'm a massive Space Wolf fan and also a massive fan of A D-B, as others have said before - he is a masterful writer and I for one will keep reading his work and the various other BL works.

I haven't even read this far in the HH storyline - but I'm enjoying the snippets on here, it convinces me to buy and read more of them.

That was a joke fellas, merely referring to the page long Primarch battles we have on these here forums.

Yeah friend - but you know the people, they will use that as ultimate guide in ranking primarchs...Btw this situation remanids me on Lucius vs Tarvitz duel...

On the issue of Leman Russ and Angron, I think it was pretty evident the reasoning behind it and even Lorgar was trying to get it through Angron's thick skull. I also suggest you read the afterword written by ADB, it sums up where he's coming from on the issue of the Space Wolves and Ultramarines, portrayal.
In short no. Still the blue and white for now. Although given the state of the legion at the end of the novel I'm not sure they care what their colours are

Khorne cares not the color of ones clothes..only that they are covered in BLOOD!

And I can buy Rob out swordfighting Lorgar and Angron, for swordplay, like all forms of martial endeavour.is merely a debased form of LOGISTICS, vis a vis the maneuver of one sword instead of crates and crates of them.

The Gauntlets of Ultramar finally made an appearance. I remember Roboute fought with a lightning claw and bolter Know No Fear. One wonders what sort of warcraft they practiced on Maccrage, that Guilliman would use lightning claws and power fists as his weapons of choice. Unless in addition to being Consul for Life, Rob was also the Maccrage Open Weight Boxing Champion.

Goddamn, I just cant wait to get my hands on this book. Sounds too good to be true!

Big Blue Boss kicking ass...

Oh this is such a tease!

At some point in the HH series, Rob or an Ultramarine is going to say the word 'logistics' and I am gonna just lose my :D.

It really is going to happen

Eh guys, holding off someone and fighting someone are two entirely different things.

Example: I believe I could hold off an 100 kg object threatening to crush me for a while. But I couldn't lift it from the ground even if I wanted.

And characters should be conflicted. It's called giving a depth to a character, you know.

Angron’s face wrenched again, at the mercy of misfiring muscles. ‘What primarch ever needed guarding by lesser men?’

‘Ferrus,’ Lorgar said softly. ‘Vulkan.’

Angron laughed, the sound rich and true, yet harsh as a bitter wind. ‘It’s good to hear you joke about those weaklings. I was getting bored of you mourning them.’

It was no joke, but Lorgar had no desire to shatter his brother’s fragile good humour. ‘I only mourn the dead,’ Lorgar conceded. ‘I don’t mourn Vulkan.’

‘He’s as good as dead.’ The World Eater smiled again. ‘I’m sure he wishes he were.

That's all there is to it.
