elmo
Here we are, at the end of another week and another project is complete... I now have the ability to field 3 magnetised Hellhounds/Bane Wolves/Devil Dogs or mixture of the 3 Apologies for the large number of photos to follow... All three together... http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100029_zpscc0e9eb4.jpg Hellhound http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100021_zps09d63a5b.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100022_zpsaaeee5ad.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100023_zpsa3f3f726.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100024_zpsfd79fbdc.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100025_zpsbcd827ce.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100026_zps0b85b712.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100027_zpsfc935ac9.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100028_zps60d4147c.jpg Bane Wolf http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100001_zps18b5d302.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100002_zpsc7cc66f2.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100003_zps5c77b654.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100004_zps4e69f158.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100005_zps4c505c09.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100006_zps034e0062.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100007_zps80447fac.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/PA100008_zps87f77c88.jpg Devil dog in next post WarriorFish, Kierdale and Cod 3 Back to top

WarriorFish
Excellent work, these will serve you very well on the table top :D elmo 1 Back to top
CoffeeGrunt
Man I love the Devildog on the table, your scheme is awesome and I love the weathering. elmo 1 Back to top
Kierdale
Fantastic work, Elmo. Was it tiring working on three at once? Looking forward to seeing what you can do with the pushfits ;)
scatmandoo
Fantastic work as usual. May they bring success on the tabletop
elmo
Fantastic work, Elmo. Was it tiring working on three at once? Looking forward to seeing what you can do with the pushfits Thanks Kier :) It took the same time to do 3 as it would have done to do 1 but it became repetitive, especially with the inking and less fun to do... I think I will stick to doing one at a time in future and just accept that it will take longer. The push fits will not be anything special, just filler Guardsmen for future squads. The only "conversions" I have done is to add a couple of bayonets on the lasrifles and some scabbards on a couple of them. Nothing like what you got up to on yours :( I am planning on taking a few photos of different stages as I have had a couple of requests for a "how to" on a FB group. I can post them here too, if anyone is interested... Fantastic work as usual. May they bring success on the tabletop Cheers scatmandoo. They are yet to take to the table as I just don't feel that I have the forces yet. Hopefully soon though. ;) +++The dice gods favour the painted army+++ walter h 1 Back to top
Vash
I have been meant to ask you this. The camo on the vehicles, are they painted with foam from a blister box/army transport tray as a "brush"? Or did you do it in another way. Sorry for asking this if its already answered.
elmo
No problem Vash ;) It was foam similar to that from the blister packs - in my case the foam which came with my Mantic figures. I tried using kitchen sponge at one point but it failed miserably :( walter h and Vash 2 Back to top
Vash
Ah good to know. I have only seen the technique used on Ork models before with a different approach to it all. But it was similar, so I had to ask. Anyhow, really good results. I love these simple techniques that improve the overall look/result of the model. JaM_TW
Lovely! I have to ask: are all these parts part of the sme kit, and wich one is it? Or did you use FW parts? Because I love to field 2 of these, but if I could use them as chimeras now and then it would be great too. I will probably steel (pun intended, sort of) your camo-technique. Looks excellent. WarriorFish
It's all from the GW kit, plus a few other GW boxes like the heads and the plough might just be a Chimera thing. They won't be able to stand in as Chimeras aside from proxy though.
elmo
As WarriorFish writes... Less the dozer blade it is all from the GW Hellhound kit. You can get the dozer blade either as a part of the Chimera kit or buy it separately as a part of the Astra Militarum Tank Accessories sprue or you can buy them from 3rd party manufacturers such as this one. The heads are from my bits box. One is the Sgt head from the infantry box, one is from the Chimera and the peaked cap is from the Hellhound. No FW bits where harmed in the constructions of these models... ;) As long as you explain to your opponent that it is a Chimera proxy it should be ok but ultimately it is up to your opponent. Confusion would come in if you where also playing Hellhounds as a part of your list.

elmo
Parts of the Baneblade are slowly starting to take shape... You just don't realise how big the kit is until your painting table is covered in it. Still working on the 10 Guardsmen in between waiting for glue to dry :) captain sox and WarriorFish 2 Back to top
WarriorFish
Now that's productivity! :D I'm looking forward to seeing them :)
elmo
You will have to wait as unfortunately I am having a long weekend away from my painting table... Too much work to do DIYing around the house :( More work planned for next week though ;)
elmo
I hate this hobby! Just bought a Sentinel... even more for the painting queue :( It will be an interesting challenge as I plan to try to make it swappable between a scout and armoured version with, naturally, magnetised weapons :) If it all works out I will treat myself to another 2 for xmas. WarriorFish
There's nothing stopping you from using the encased Sentinel as a Scout one too, but I'll look forward to that tutorial for when I inevitably get more Sentinels :P elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
I just want to avoid confusion if I decide to use both types in the same game.. plus I don't like wasting bits, you may have noticed ;)
WarriorFish
You can do up-armoured ones, Cadian pattern I think they are called. Might be easier to magnetise them over the basic roll cage, but it's been a very long time since I built a Sentinel.

elmo
Thanks baz :) Work has started on the Baneblade. Not much to look at so far but the sponsons are built. So much going on at the same time :( http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0648_zps18dee499.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0649_zpse72b4631.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/IMAG0650_zpsbdfb1d46.jpg If you want to know how I went about with the magnetised weapons (special thanks to Sox for the idea of magnetising the lascannon turrets ) then please be patient as I am working on a tutorial which will go live, hopefully, by the start of next month ;) WarriorFish and captain sox 2 Back to top
scatmandoo
Looking good, I really want a super heavy of some sort. As for the sentinel, I used the this type so I can use it to represent both. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20140723_195201.jpg I think though don't hold it to me but the armoured roof will fit on.
