Jolemai
I saw WarriorFish mention elsewhere that camo was in this season and with Olga being so stylish, how come she didn't fancy some chocochip?
elmo
One word... Consistancy All my Commissars have the same red/black scheme... It is just so in this season ;) http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2015/009/8/2/commissar_by_elmo9141-d8d76d3.jpg http://th06.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2013/144/0/e/imperial_guard_commissar_by_elmo9141-d66eclj.jpg walter h 1 Back to top
scatmandoo
No offence taken I will go for the sandy look like my vets and the future 2nd Kasrkin squad. Haha I can see how it was misinterpreted, I meant facial expression haha. The commissar colours are great too. elmo 1 Back to top

WarriorFish
I've had some precious time robbed from me this weekend but I'll see what I can get done and post up an update picture as soon as I have something worth showing :) elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
Not much exciting to report this weekend... Here is the Kasrkin Sgt in a little more detail http://pre08.deviantart.net/f813/th/pre/f/2015/072/e/0/kasrkin_sgt_by_elmo9141-d8lju5b.jpg Plus I have been steadily working my way through the next squad, No. 190. The command elements are completed but I am still painting the lasgunner arms for the remaining squad members plus some extras for 6 x HW squads which I hope to have completed by next weekend. I may manage to complete a second squad too if time allows. http://orig09.deviantart.net/3765/f/2015/072/3/6/squad_190___the_beginnings_by_elmo9141-d8ljtw1.jpg On a sad note I have been celebrating the life of my all time favourite author Terry Pratchett by re-listening to some of the audio book adaptations I have while painting. If anyone is yet to be introduced to his Discworld series I heartily recommend it. He was a true observer of the human condition. I often caught myself laughing out loud to the point of tears but he also had a deep and thought provoking vision of what makes people tick. RIP Sir Terry Edited March 13, 2015 by elmo Kierdale, WarriorFish, varchilde and 1 other 4 Back to top
varchilde
Great pics Elmo, and I couldn't agree more about Terry Pratchett; I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times :) I've been thinking about using one of my Blood and Glory model backgrounds as a little bit of a tribute. elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
It is sad as I always fancied painting up some of the Discworld models that have been released and never got around to it but that will have to be for another forum as it is not 40K related You met my hero...and more than once... curse you! I am sooo jealous. DEATH on the motorcycle - Ravenwing Chaplain?? Edited March 13, 2015 by elmo

elmo
After writing all the fluff for the 711th I am tempted to put it all together in one thread rather than it being split up all over the place... There seems to be more and more of it. What do you think? Good idea or not required?
Kierdale
I say go for it. You could put links in the first post of this thread, or start a thread in the Hall of Honour for completed models and their write ups? walter h and elmo 2 Back to top

Father Mehman
Very excellent, Commissar! This is going to be saved and read tonight. The pictures, by the way, are superb! elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
Thanks Mehman :) Here are some more then... I managed to keep my head down and get 2 squads completed over the last 2 weeks along with starting work on 6 HW teams (3 x Mortars, 2 x Lascannons and 1 heavy bolter). The HW teams are being done not so much for the game value but I hate to waste bits... The Motars are not far along enough yet for photos but all 6 teams should be ready by next weekend. http://pre02.deviantart.net/76a8/th/pre/f/2015/079/8/d/squad_190__897th_infantry_company_by_elmo9141-d8meynq.jpg http://pre10.deviantart.net/6be6/th/pre/f/2015/079/2/b/squad_144__897th_infantry_company_by_elmo9141-d8meyj8.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P3200129_zpsqzug3tjw.jpg WarriorFish and Black_out 2 Back to top
Black_out
Your completion rate is outstanding as is the quality of your work. I'm absolutely in love with your army! Keep up the incredible work man! elmo 1 Back to top
Father Mehman
Turn my head for a minute and these pop up. These look great, as always ! One question: are the bases (and I've seen what you've done with sinking the spotter into the base, which is brilliant) going to be based as well? Personally, being able to take off a wound- the spotter- from the base and it look like the dirt underneath the grass has been exposed (a la blast) would be amazing. That, and, if I have to base my models you do, too ! Keep up the seriously good work, Commissar! Tallarn Commander and elmo 2 Back to top
