JeffJedi
Great converisions. I really like the shotguns in the second pic and the Psyker. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3281456 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Very, very nice work. Particularly your two masters and the astropath. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3281484 Share on other sites
Zedrenael
Very nice work. Can I make a few recommendations on your photo taking capabilities? First you will want more light (possible use the flash on the camera). Second thing you want to do is to try and take a look at the white balance to get that true color. The third and final thing you are going to want to do is try taping a white paper to the box to get a even backdrop. I hope these help you to get better pictures, but I love the models keep up the good work. elmo
Looking good there - but for the photos don't use the flash as it will just wash out the colours. Try buying a couple of cheap desklamps to provide extra lighting and play around with the light source settings on your camera. Hopefully I can figure out something to get you all clearer pictures on here. Idlem
I was painting a gift my wife got me when I realized I have a ton of individual models that need better photos and updates of finished squads from awhile back to show off. Sadly, I only have this preview to offer for now. A few guesses to what it belongs to. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3673/13213414383_d19fea953a_o.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3623944 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
How many guesses do we get? :P Is that bits of space monkey I see on the base? I approve! When do we get to see the model that uses the base? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3623969 Share on other sites
Idlem
Without a means to enforce a limit I'd say pi plus nine. Hoping to get new pictures of finished work sometime this week. Idlem
....aaaaaand bamph! Some veterans I've been working on. They all have camo cloaks, either rolled up in their backpack or actually out. We have the finished penal legion in the back... My sentinel... (Its got chicken leeeeeegs! /cuddles) My first painted Chimera... My Imperial Knight...'s legs! (Venerable Iron is a Freeblade dedicated to the Old 256) So yeah! My weekend updates. Honda
So where did you lady commissar come from? She's got some great attitude. The rest of your stuff is looking really good. I even missed the shotguns on the second pic, but that's a very clever conversion. Carry on! walter h 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3630226 Share on other sites
Idlem
Shamelessly stole the ideas for the shotguns from "From the Warp". As for the Lady Commissar, she came from a company called Warforge. Quick look doesn't show a direct place to buy her from anymore, but I'm sure a little googling will get you a model of her if you want. Boomkapow
You should do a tutorial on how you did that searchlight. Whole army looks amazing but that, for whatever reason, stood out. Probably because I struggle with doing them. Also can't wait to see that titan completed! Idlem
Hm, I'll be working on another Chimera once I get the Knight completed. I'll post a picture by picture version, but for now... I start by basing it Kantor Blue, then I give most of the the light another layer of Macragge Blue, leaving a bit of the Kantor visible. Another layer of iceblue goes where the light is reflecting off the glass, leaving again a bit of the previous two colors visable. Finally White Scar goes where the reflection is the brightest. If at this point the colors are too bright, give it a good wash of blue. I think the new blue wash is called Nightshade something. I still have Asurmen Blue. The wash should give it an extra glassy look to it. Idlem
Two updates and a couple of vets I had finished awhile ago. Flamer guy on left shown at another angle from above images. The Knight's legs are finished. Going to start working on either some arms or pauldrons here soon. WarriorFish
I love the head hunter! Great work, and the Knight is coming along very nicely. You're going to have quite the mean looking army when they're done :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3638499 Share on other sites
Idlem
Weekend updates. Venerable Iron getting its face all made up. The photos of the searchlight, step by step. WarriorFish
Curse you Idlem, watching your Knight come along is giving me an itchy buying finger! Especially since green is my favourite colour too, and likely would find itself on my Knight! Keep up the sterling work, it's a pleasure to watch the Cadian 256 expand Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/269419-the-cadian-256/#findComment-3643919 Share on other sites
Idlem
Some updates at my glacial pace. His "back" isn't done yet. I've still got edges to finish and details to do. Smoke stacks to fill in black... So yeah, my weekend update. Idlem
They're all painted with Castellan Green with Deathworld Forest highlights. I've been stealing decals from just about every transfer sheet I've ever gotten.
