Hey all, thanks for all the comments.

@GAZ_AV_NZ: The symbols were done using green stuff and the dreadnought was painting as follows:

  • Base - Chaos Black
  • First highlight - The Fang/Shadow Grey
  • Second highlight - Dawnstone/Codex Grey
  • Final highlight - Administratum/Fortress Grey

C&C welcome.

Hey all

Small update, not really anything new, just some progress on the RT mark 1 terminator and also I altered the pose of the chaplain, Tactical squad pretty much done just finishing of some small details.

Decided to make some changes to the terminator, added some small details to the legs and changed the connection point where the torso meets the legs, filed down all the trims to make them more flat like the original model, Made a sword arm after the FAQ changed rules for sergeants, working on the RT storm bolter with the 3 magazine clips and also the power fist arm which is still in early stages. I sprayed the shoulders to help see how smooth the greenstuff turned out and the model is currently in pieces at the moment. I am trying to decide whether to add rivets to all the trims but still not sure, other than the rivets I may start casting the legs, torso, head and shoulders soon.

Hey all,

Was busy towards the end of July so I ended up failing my vow, anyway Librarian finally got some paint on it, noticed some of the posts vanished when the site went down so will update those as well.

Made some casts of the MK1 Terminator as well, still not sure about the shoulder pads, I think they need to be closer to the body so may do some work on the arms shoulder joints. Using this version to make some more variants with different poses and such.

(The hole in the foot at the bottom was my fault, didn't mix enough resin)

C&C Welcome

to me, those Mk1 tremis are just magic.

Shoulder pads are crisp and clean, not too big.

i don't see what you don't like about them, closer i think they would become more "clunky", that would be sad.

Right now it seem you can choose the way to pose them, and they fit the old aestetics?

Closer from the torso you will end up in a more monopose sculpt.

Librarian backpack is from FW : sevrin loth ? really cool addition, nice and subtle !

Dark Rage, I think this is a fantastic model, and the most exciting thing I've seen on this site in I don't know how long. I'm gutted that it isn't a sneak peak from Forge World's latest project.

Say, the skulls on his backpack look familiar. Nice touch.

Cut off a power armor back pack I believe. I agree. That was a nice touch.

I meant the B&C paintjob rather than the slick conversion.

Oops, I did not pick up on that. Nice nod indeed.

I like the look of the new squad w/Heavy weapon, though I question the integrity of the sergeants armor. As for CC, the flesh tones do seem a little flat on him. Maybe some wash or stippling in shaven head look? A DA tattoo on his head even?

Hey all, did a paint test on one of the terminators and got a WiP shot of the squad although I think I should have used dye in the resin since white doesn't do well with the camera.

@EPK Your right about the flesh tones, I did plan on re doing both of the faces in that squad sometime soon, will possibly try a tattoo on the sergeant. As for the armour I was trying to have a look similar to the older RT days think there was a picture with an exposed hand on a marine somewhere.

Now to try and get those Tartaros pattern terminators done while converting some different arm poses for these.

Made a change to the flesh tones and also some tattoos, think the sergeant turned out ok but thinking if I should retry the heavy weapon face, I painted them using the same steps but the flesh turned out somewhat different on the other marine. Also I have to do that scar.

Loving the tattoos, very cool. Regarding the Heavy weapon dude, you could add some washes around the eye sockets, mouth and cheek hollows, that would bring a bit more contrast into the face

btw - just spotted you're in Hounslow..... I'm just up the road in Twickenham :smile.:
