Little update on the nephilim, got rid of the 'winged' wings filled in the gaps and sanded them down and went with stripes down each.

C&C welcome

It's crap....

....only joking :biggrin.:

It's a very bold colour scheme.... and I like it! It certainly fits within the rest of your army, and I like the 'wingless' wings!

One thing I've spotted is that just inboard of the wingtip on the port wing there is a thin white stripe, that isn't present on the starboard wing....

Ah yeah the wing on the right picture is a complete but the left wing is still needing highlights and possibly a unit number or something.

Could have sworn I'd replied to this before now? Must have been lost when the forum went down over the summer.

Anyway, this is an inspiring thread. Really exceptional work, both in terms of modelling and painting. My particular favourites are your first version of Belial (easily one of the best Terminator Masters I've seen and far better than the official GW mini), the Tac squad sergeant with the World Eater gladiator arm (he just looks brutally archaic) and the Company Master with the mace (I'm planning a similar conversion of the Seraphicus model for my Chapter Master, and I'll be happy if he turns out even half as well as yours! :-) )

Keep up the good work mate! :-)

  • 4 weeks later...

Hey all, got around to finishing Zamiel in Mk1 while also making some slow progress on my Rhinos for the Currus Belli. I also started writing up some little ideas for the Consecrators including names for their first and second companies.

Ideas

Consecrators First - Guardian Company - Keepers of order and Heavy guardians of the consecrators

Consecrators Second - Dragoon Company - Vanguards for the Consecrators

Wasn't sure if their were any quotes for the consecrators out there so here is one I made up: "We are the consecrators, we fight to protect those sacred in the eyes of our emperor."

Battle cry: "Consecration for the Lion and the First!"

Sweet mama-jama Dark Rage, that is awesome! He's fantastic, and the fact that you made that kit and just added parts: Wow!

Is that Sammael's cloak I spy on his back? And at least part of a Deathwing Knight tabard? Chaos LCs?

That paint work is great, I really like the tabard flames, that back banner is very cool, and the small details, the stripes, quartered patterns, the red studs, it all comes together to make a really stunning miniature.

There, I think you drained me of my mental reservoir of positive adjectives and adverbs. :D

Your models are simply stunning. Zamiel cinversion is very beautiful and fool of great ideas. I see you put lot of effort into him and he would be as fo me one of the best centerpieces in your army, but then I saw your Nephilim and how great job you've done with it! Tattoo on forehead is a masterpiece, did you freehand it?

So, minus the arms on this particular fella, you hand sculpted the whole mini? Was there a template you used, or mock parts you worked with?

I have desperately wanted to build a Mk. I for ages, but could never wrap my head around it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

@1000heathens: the arms, tabard and banner are the only GW parts used and I didn't use a template for it or mock parts just built up from GS which is probably why the progress is coming along quite slow.

@Larhendiel: Thanks for the comment and yeah the tattoo was freehanded.

@Mikhail: I haven't actually considered it but I took a look and it does look like it would go very nicely thing is finding them separate may be an issue, may try to make a version similar.

So as far as progress goes the Nephilim is coming along slowly but should be done by the weekend, then can focus on the Rhinos.
