@ Mikhail - Given that you are one of my biggest supporters, I really appreciate that, man. Thank you so very much. :happy.:

@ Lord Marshal - I think you're looking for

UPDATE - I leave on the 30th to go up to Massachusetts to spend a week with my girlfriend for her birthday and our 6th Anniversary. With that in mind, I have 3 days to finish my vow which consists of 2 more soul grinders, 8 blood letters, and 4 blood crushers. Wish me luck...

Wow, you've been up to a ton of good stuff!

Love those blood letters from a few pages back. They are *exactly* what I envision when I think about how I'd love to paint some.

Secondly, that plague hulk is absolutely stomach unsettling in it's gross realism. I don't think I've ever seen rust that well done either.

Awesome job buddy! Keep up the terrific work.

Well much appreciated, Flint. Honestly I must confess that while I took a great deal of care with the rusting on the sword and the cannon/exhausts, I became EXTREMELY impatient with the legs and honestly just made the laziest work on it.

Oooh, Noctus is coming up my way! Welcome to the North, brother.

That plague hulk...Is absolutely nasty. In a wonderful, sickly way.

That Bloodthirster...eh, I've never been a fan of the greater demon models, sorta ancient sculpts and all.

I hear ya, man. I am really not a huge fan of the older Greater Daemon models... But I had it so I needed to do something with it :P

Hail to the Ruined King, Brothers and Sisters. So, as you can tell, I'm back from my trip to Massachusetts. No, I sadly didn't was not able to complete my Vow for the ETL, but my Brothers and Sisters of the Chaos boards seem to pull out a resounding win even without me so I guess its ok. Either way, I suppose I deserve and explanation to you guys. With that, I give you my excuse, and  I don't regret a single moment of it (or the fact that I am now completely broke... )

And yes, I know I have an absolutely terrible smile.... :pinch:

But now back to why we're all here, yes? Little plastic men. So, with my return home and the few weeks that I have before the next semester of College begins, I almost immediately got back into the hobby. The first of the things I did, of course, was to build the model I had been so eager to work on since I got it as a gift from a friend but had been holding off on because of the ETL and the beginning of Grotsmasha's modeling competition. But now one has ended and the other has begun. So without further adue, I give you General Borcus, Seneshal of House Leleux and Commander of what remains of the Ibreian Defense Force. More models and fluff to come.

Congrats mate

I completely agree ETL means nothing when a ladies involved.

QFT

Secondly - That knight looks the absolute business! It's got all the awesome bits to make it chaosy without trying to hard. My fav has to be those giant tusks in the front. From the Warriors of Chaos chariot/warshrine, yes?

I bet it will be gorgeous when painted! I was curious though, are you keeping its right shoulder bare for a cool design or will it get chaosed up too?

And yes, I know I have an absolutely terrible smile.... :pinch:

Well, good thing the lady seems to have that angle covered just fine, then ;) Seriously, though: Glad to see you're happy!

The Knight is already looking really cool! Extra kudos for getting a bit adventurous with the pose -- something I didn't dare try for my own model ;) Those tusks are also a great touch!

Will you be adding anything to the interior, or is this knight basically a daemon by this point?

Oh, and maybe you should check out this WB Knight if you haven't already. It might be useful for inspirational purposes.

Between your Knight and Augustus B'Raass's "Beetle of Skulls", that conversion challenge should be rather interesting ;)

at least you have a smile.

"little plastic men" hahahahaha so true! also that monstrosity of a thing looks awesome!

Wow, haven't had this much activity over a model in a while. Thanks, guys! :happy.:

@Jaspcat - Thank you, my friend. Glad you like him

@Kizzdougs - Glad that 'brutal' effect I was trying to pull off went through. Hopefully I can maintain that sort of look whenever I get around to being able to buy the other Knights. I wants a Knight contingent, dammit! :D

@Demon - Join us.......... Join us............

@The Lord Marshal - Little plastic men indeed

@Kraut - Appreciate it, my man. Yeah, I will admit they were a real pain in the ass to deal with those legs and took me three times to reposition the model on the base to make the thing fit correctly but I finally got it down after a while. Nah, I don't think I'll be adding a pilot to the inside. No its not a Daemon (yet) but I think it would just be too much effort for a detail no one's going to see because I'm going to be gluing the top on most likely.

@Flint - I'm glad you ask that question! To answer from the get go, yes I will be leaving it bare for painting purposes. Moving on to explaining why, well I suppose that just means I should explain a bit of detail into the Knight's home.

So, for this guy (and any other Knights I ever get) I decided that I would follow in the footsteps of my good friend Vazzy who used his own last name and family crest for the House. I will be doing the same, sort of a way I can drive my blade an a little piece of myself further into Warhammer's spine. To that end, my last name is Leleux, a word that comes from Archaic French meaning 'Someone who is cunning or untrustworthy. Also a title signifying The Wolf ' I suppose with a name like that, I was always destined to play Chaos... :unsure.:  I know its rather small, but here's the only image I could find on the internet of my family crest. Anything else and I'd have to try and take pictures of or scan some old documents my father has, and I'd rather not risk damaging them.

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/Noctus-Cornix/family-crests_2227_364900351_zps54a5c5e7.jpg

As you can see, the crest is a trifecta of bastions on a blue surface. I'll be attempting to paint this to the best of my abilities on the right shoulder pad and possibly on the coat of arms shield. As for the color scheme, I was going to continue with the theme and use either a straight royal blue or half it with black. The trim will of course be silver.

So what do you guys think?

Nah, I don't think I'll be adding a pilot to the inside. No its not a Daemon (yet) but I think it would just be too much effort for a detail no one's going to see because I'm going to be gluing the top on most likely.

I don't want to talk you into anything here, but let me just say that very few hobby achievements have ever felt quite as satisfying as getting that - entirely optional - Knight interior sorted out -- just sayin'

Your idea regarding the use of personal heraldry is interesting. The one challenge I can see deriving from this is to make sure the Knight still reads as a Traitor Knight, in spite of the heraldic elements. Oh, and you could make your life easier by using decals for the three fortresses: The Bretonnian decal sheets do have some readymade fortresses that should work pretty well.

What, the spikes, mutations, and Chaos Stars don't give it away enough? :D

I can see what you mean, though. I'll have to give it some extra thought before I get started on painting him.... Whenever that is. Any suggestions?

Hmm, my best idea right now is to make the heraldry look extremely beaten and weathered, as if it barely remains visible beneath all the trophies, blood spatters and what have you. Come to think of it, that would add a nice bit of tragedy to the model, with its loyalist origins slowly disappearing beneath the corruption, yet a last remnant of better days yet visible...

Well, the thing about that is that the entire House has sided with Chaos, willingly I might add. The House has always had a pretty bad reputation ever since the Heresy when they originally sided with Horus only to be taken back at the end under pretenses of a repentance over a thousand years. Since then the House has been looked upon with disdain as the scions of traitor's blood who use cowardly means to fight their enemy (by Knight standards atleast). When they fell over to Chaos once more, Ankou Leleux, master of the House did so in defiance of the Imperium and the God Emperor. To this end, I want them to wear their colors and House markings proudly as a sign of spite towards the Imperium as a whole and those who scorned them.
