Wolf_Pack's Blood Angels - Conversions and Kit Bashes

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question where do you get the majority of your bitz from as I have done quite a bit of attempted kit-bashing but isn't quite as impressive as what you've done and I have found that I just don't have the high impact things like the massive swords or the massive thunder hammers. Could you suggest if there is a certain pack which is best for kit-bashing. Thanks for your time

some bits you just cannot get on Ebay or e-stores. The Dreadknight weapons are an example of that. I usually buy/trade them off of local players, and hold bits trading days. the Death Company and Sanguinary guard boxe sets have really cool overall bits.

Outside of that, you can get some good deals on e-bay, I make a 50$ order roughly once a month. You have to check it often for certain bits, as they only turn up periodically.

Also, I don't just look for specific stuff. I just look at other people's bits box and find bits and go "mmm, this looks kinda cool" and try something with it. There's quite a bit of trial and error, just don't be scared to experiment.

Just wanted to say massively inspired by your work, cracking stuff!

In fact inspired me so much having a wee stab at it myself... http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283301-corvus-danseur-blood-angels-starting-anew-10-years-on/?p=3522280

Thanks :)

The legs are the strait legs from 2 pair of SG legs. One left and one right, thinned down on the inside, and them connect with a bit of greenstuff.

As for the Angel on the fork, I figured it would provide extra plating, and it caters on my OVERKILL nature ;) the rest of the squad will probably not have one though.

I've just seen this thread for the first time and gone through all your conversions and you've done an amazing job.

You really pull your models together and they look really clean.

Like I said your stuff rocks.

My only comment is in the above picture the Dev Cent looks a bit top heavy leaning backwards, like he is about to fall over.

Might just be the angle of the shot though. If he's about to fire it might be worth trying to get one of those legs behind him a little, bracing to fire.

Keep up the awesomeness!

Thanks for the input!

This model is actually standing strait and spreading his arms. The angle of the shot is not really good in hindsight. I'll make more shots when I finish the other two.

Group shot. I did redo the cannon placement on the arms on the sergeant after the feedback I got. It did look like he was leaning backwards due to the odd cocked angle of the cannons, so now they are more perpendicular to the ground.

That Centurion squad is pure awesome.

I think my favorite was the sergeant to start with, but its a shame you didn't have a bald head to use :)  Now that I see the group shot though, I really like the one on the left, he reminds me very strongly of an old MechWarrior, like a turning Mad Cat.
