Thanks!

I basecoated them with Waagh Flesh, then built up the colour with AP Fanatic Wild Green, then Vallejo Bile Green, and Vallejo Toxic Yellow as the highlight colour. I used Vallejo Parasite Brown in the armour divots. Trim is AP Fanatic True Copper and GW Sycorax Bronze.

Well they look great. I like how you can smell the smoke from the flail with your eyes too. :D

I played my third Boarding Action game with my Drukhari Spacelane Raiders Crusade army vs. Blood Ravens Space Marines. Fabulous game, excellent opponent and I managed to pull off my second win. It was also my first fight with the fully painted army.

I'm adding all three games to the ...Meanwhile in Commorragh... post over in the Crusade Club. So far, I've added the narrative that supports all of my planned Boarding Action games, and the narrative and post-game results of the first battle. I should be able to post the details for battles two and three tomorrow, and I might even have some pics of the Stadium Seating for my Wych Cult Arena terrain which I started building on Sunday.

YiTHI finished the model I painted for my girlfriend for our anniversary, on Christmas day. I am really proud of it and want to show it off, but I also want her to be the first person to see it. My pathetic need for validation is slowly driving me insane.

YITH - Picked up my mag-trays for my nids. Got the height wrong for one set, but a buddy will hook me up for this weekend. Sadly I can't fit all 2K of my list. Missing are the 40 termaguants and haurspex, rest fit though. Finished gluing all the magnets to the hormaguants and genestealers last night. Hormagaunsts are on the lowest level and the stealers are on the level above with 3 pyrovores.

Going to look into magging my marines and guard later once (hopefully) magnets go down in price.

TITHI visited Warhammer World and looked at the Exhibition as you do. There is a little sign next to the Assault on Angellus Prime say that it is added to by GW Modellers from time to time. I thought that was fine as long as they keep it authentic.

It's supposed to be represent a battle between Angrath the Unbound and Marneus Calgar and it has been there for years.

I have looked at it several times and TITHI saw the Atreus Super Heavy Tank and other Primaris Tanks.

TITH I played my first ever game of kill team with my kids. It took a bit of time to setup (Roughly an hour and a half...), and what started as teams (my 2 oldest kids vs me and my youngest) ended up, After activating two minis each, as my oldest son vs me (the girls weren't thrilled by the setup time...).

We played death korps for me (using Schaeffer's last chancers minis) vs phobos kill team for my son.

The first turn was a total blood bath. Any time he pointed a gun at one of my operatives it got deleted (lethal 5+ is brutal paired with poor rolling on the saves...) + absolutely abysmal positioning on my part that left my sniper in the open (the sniper rifle is amazing but I only got 1 turn of shooting before he got annihilated.

We played loot and salvage. And he won 9vp to 7.

We most certainly forgot some rules, and I haven't found how to use equipment... (It's more the how to take some equipment part that eluded me...)

The wording on some rules is also a bit difficult to understand. I had printed the rules in french for my kids and had to double check with the original version in english to make sure it wasn't just Bad translation (it wasn't...)

Overall, we had great fun and I hope we can play it again soon!

YiTHI assembled some Warp Spiders. Yes, I've still got a backlog after the summer's painting event, but I'd like to field some Warp Spiders in an upcoming game and I'm sick of handling my ancient unpainted lead spiders, so I decided to upgrade to unpainted plastic while I get the rest of my army in order.

Now, I have the Phoenix Lord waiting in the wings to be assembled, so I needed the option to swap out the Exarch's weapons, and magnetising the Spinneret Rifle sounded like a terrible idea and while searching the internet to find out if the Spinneret Rifle and the (damn, I forgot what they are called) baby spinners could be fired together, I heard someone mention that the Swooping Hawks kit has a spare body and my Spiders had a spare base, for some odd reason...

The Swooping hawk torso was indeed still in my bits box, but for reasons beyond my understanding the matching leg was missing, so I had to find a suitable donor, which came from the Howling Banshee kit. I had to trim the pointy tip off the Hawk foot to make them look a bit more cohesive, I trimmmed off the Hawk Motif from the pouch and removed the pouch from the Banshee leg, covering up the scarring from my dreadful hack job with a flappy cloth thingy from one of the Hawk Exarch heads. I had to either cut off the supporting arm from a regular Spider generator pack or use the spare one from an Autarch. I opted to do the former, since although the Autarch pack had some nice details it didn't really have anywhere for me to glue the extra limbs. I filled in the imperfect join between the leg and the body with plastic putty. Hopefully I'll return to the painting table today and it won't have collapsed into an unsightly mess of molten plastic in my absence.

It's quite funny, I posted in a discussion recently claiming that I don't convert models very often anymore, and almost never Aeldari.... and yet here we are.

Much respect to whoever it was that reminded me of the spare Swooping Hawk body that made this possible. I managed to magnetise some Admech Servitor arms recently, but I think trying to hold a Warp Spider Exarch's gun arms together would have been pushing it...

I got a Terminator Ancient out of someone else's Crux Terminatus box and converted him up with a bunch of bits I had left over off the Space Wolves terminator sprue, and ordered the Primal Hounds terminator banner (it'll be here later this week) for him.  After I got him together, I realized I really didn't need to buy the Chapter Ancient for what I ended up doing, I could've just bought any terminator body off eBay and slapped this together.

Welp.

Maybe I'll use the banner he came with as a marker for Kill Team.

TITHI worked on my Malcador Defender, converted from the plastic kit with a 3D printed upper hull conversion set. The guns failed, unfortunately, so I'll have to reprint those. Also I managed to accidentally glue the elevation on the sponsons and hull gun static. Whoops!

Planning on running this with the Eye of Terror Codex rules for Traitor Guard, using the VDR to represent it. Need to Chaos it up once the guns print...

Today, I learned that the upcoming Tanksgiving Event at the Warhammer store will allow any VEHICLE or MONSTER.

It just needs to be unassembled when I bring it by the shop... and since I can't find an unbuilt cyclops, I found the next best (and Cheapest!) thing: The Firestrike Servo-Turret.

Hey, nice Titan that you spent thousands of dollars on and spend endless hours assembling and painting... have you met my 30 dollar Space Marine with a 36" lascannon that I built and painted last night?

that would have been awesome

Yesterday in the hobby I built a Bloat Drone. Weird that the instructions say not to glue on the side rotors, so I've got them blue-tacked and ready to prime.

I uh, also spent a bunch of money on models. A few AoS kits, an Abominant (which is a model I've wanted forever), and a Krieg Artillery Team. Back in October I built up a Rubric Marine squad and 3 Scarab termies and I made it pretty far in the trim before getting sick of blue and gold. I've been crushing books (not Warhammer) and playing video games with my hobby time since, but I wanted to add some grey to the pile so that I had some painting options. I also bought some cheap paint brushes that I can beat up and just smash paint on models.

Current state of my 40k projects. The termies are close to done, the base coat is done on the trim of 6/10 Rubrics. Those Rubrics will be lucky if they see a paint brush before Christmas

TITHI got sidetracked again and put together a jump pack Captain out of spare parts. Torso, head, melta bomb, grenade, purity seal and relic thing are regular old plastic Tactical, legs are printed. Axe arm is from a resin Legion of the Damned Sergeant, bolt pistol arm and jump pack are from a slightly mangled metal Chaplain I got in a trade years back. His helmet (on his belt) is an old-gen CSM helmet modded and with a doohickey from Tor Garadon I wanna say grafted on to de-Chaos it. Also from Tor is the tilt shield. Skull on the backpack is from the Citadel Skulls sprue. Head on the base is from a 3D print of a scan of the now OOP Lucius the Eternal.

Here he is next to a printed nuscale Marine and a classic Catachan (no, she is not authentic, sorry James) for size comparison. I have to say I'm amazed at how well just using the rescaled printed legs completely transforms the look of classic Marines without any other conversions.

Thought I might make a post or two here to get some motivation and its fun seeing how diverse a lot of the other projects are.

Some WIP of Scouring-era Sons of Horus, a Reaver and Cataphractii.

Not a cool modelling thing with pictures, but I played my 4th Boarding Action League game last night- my first outing with the new Drukhari dex vs. Necrons. I held a lead right up until the final turn where my oppenent knocked out two units and pulled ahead by 5 VP. Very fun game, great opponent. I'll come back later and put up a more detailed post in the Drukhari forum- and then I'll have to write up the Crusade story in the Crusade Club... but very happy I got to play.

My record is now 2/2, and all the games have been fairly casual and fairly close.

In other news, I finally managed to get my hands on a Krieg Command squad, so lots of modelling to come. My hobby budget is now exhausted, likely till the new year- the Krieg unit was not my ONLY recent purchase... Just the most recent.
