So I did a color test to see if I could use some Slaaneshi purple-greys to undershade before glazing with Iyanden Yellow.

Short answer is yes, yes you can. Long answer is that I need to smooth my blending (looks like a reason to practice loaded brush), transition the lightest grey into Wraithbone, and then transition that into white to really make the color pop before applying the Iyanden in much thinner layers for smoothness.

You know, I think most people don't make painting yellow this complicated.

:laugh.: I certainly wouldn't! It is neat to see your progress, though!

Thanks! I'll be repainting it now that I have a better feel for it, though starting with his robes proper and working from there.

I've always been a bit on an idiot who wanted the yellow to have more going on that what I could achieve and I'm finally happy with how the shadows look. Now I just need to work on smoothness, blending and thinner glazes.

YITH my Dark Angels Leviathan Dreadnought showed up, so I got him cleaned up and built in the sub-assemblies for painting, and did a quick poster-tac mock-up of how he'll look when finished:

YITH - In the continuing tradition of poor, yet sensible, financial decisions. I managed to get my hands on a complete Fortress of Redemption on the moderate cheap.

Also nearing completion of my moriaxi, hardest part of this build was figuring out the paint scheme for the weapons.

YITH I put Eldrad's staff to use (or the top of it anyways) to spice up my Spiritseer (and it can be used as the Warp-Spawn Bane a Witchstaff that ignores invuls on Daemons and Psykers), TITH I'm working on assembling 2 Wraithlords, 5 Wraithblades (going Axes) and 10 Wraithguard (thinking Wraithcannons on all 10, but might do 5 and 5).

TITH I finished building all my wraiths, only to take them to my FLGS and apparently need to rebuild them as some bits did not want to stay attached in transport.

I think I need a new case for these guys. They're just too big for anything I've got to safely carry them in.
