Lib's back

Liberame, the models still look great and :cuss that's a lot of Dark Angels!

On the subject of black vs. red arrows, I say try one of each and decide which you actually like more. I think that I would definitely use the red as a spot color against the black and bone, but leaving it only on one side for the arrow would probably make it look a little lop-sided, so considering the black chapter insignia, I would go with a black arrow.

Well I made a vow to do a rhino and I may as well start now. Figure I'll update this in real time as I had just primed the rhino about a minute ago.

And with army painter skeleton bone primer

I bring the model back to bone with vallejo model color iraqui sand. I fix the minor mistakes I made with the pale brown and create soft shadows in the recesses of the rhino. going to cover the model in testors wetlook clear glosscoat to protect what ive done and handpaint the metallics next

I really have to invest in an airbrush!

Great work but it always leaves me wanting more ;)

Drill out those barrels.....!

Added some Vallejo model air black metal, drilled out the barrels thanks to elmo reminding me, and readded palebrown into the few recessed parts on doors and such. I also took the time to add some decals because  the model was already glosscoated.

/edit roughly 2hrs to get a decent table top transport, could do a few of these at the same time to cut down on waiting for things to dry. But truth be told this is the first rhino I have painted in 15 years.. (sooo many grey transports...)

Using Vallejo Model Color black I added smoke marks at the rear rhino vents, and around the smoke stacks, I also took this time to add another decal and then proceeded to weather the whole tank with Vallejo Model Color German Black Brown

Added some more black to the exhaust because I saw in the last photos that I forgot about them. Also added more weathering to the top hatch where the two hatches meet, Painted the stormbolter casing black and then used vallejo liquid metal red gold for the emblem. Washed with seraphim sepia. I then used Vallejo Game Color Goblin Green on the lenses, and used a 50/50 mix of Valley Game Color Livery green and glaze medium to highlight the top half.

Final Post for the rhino.

I saw that I had forgotten the rhino lenses, so I painted them the same way I did the hatch lens, then used army painter gun metal to highlight the stormbolter, and every. single. rivet. I then glosscoated the whole model and added a vandyke brown oil wash to the whole model to give it a nice gritty look, and added some vallejo pigment natural umber to the bottom of the vehicle and treads. My vow is now complete and I can go back helpin the gf with her dark eldar.

I just saw your tank in the Currus Belli thread and popped over here to say how nice it looks. Now I see you did the whole thing in a day and I've even more impressed. :tu: Did you use the sponge-dabbing technique for the weathering?

Nice and fast :)

IMO, you went a bit "crazy" with the weathering...I'd probably have stuck to only the most "dirtiest" areas to further the effect between the smoke/damage acumulation and areas which simply are dusty and so...

About 4 hours of work, got all the silver and gold done. Going to take a break before I tackle details.

As I only paint while watching (listening really) to TV shows, I was painting to Hercules! The legendary journeys.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I painted all the ravenwing to Star Trek TNG, and the Deathwing to Star Trek DS9 lol
