I just checked for ya. :biggrin.: Saved you some time, brother.

Edit: Oooh, you actually have to upgrade a biker to a Sgt for points, and THEN you can buy new gear for him with more points. :(

Thanks, I appreciate it.  There is actually a pretty cool scene described in the "The Serpent Beneath" where a White Scar runs down an orc while on his jetbike.  You should check it out when you get a chance.

Points, I'll worry about points when I find someone in my club who actually is willing to paint a heresy era army.

Why not just kill some filthy xenos with your heresy army? I can't get any of my friends to collect a HH army (yet) but they don't mind me fielding a heresy army against whatever they want

I want the army to display, really. I don't really have any intentions of playing again, but that's not a bad idea for people who do.

And since I don't care about points...

Legion Praetor on jetbike

Archaeotech pistol

Paragon blade, master-crafted

Digital lasers

Iron halo

Comes out to 240 pts.

Btw dude good list selection

Extinction is still over a year away probably like 15mnths or something

Not from what I hear, Extinction is due within 6 months of Massacre being released.

@kage I always feel kinda sad when people tell me they're not going to play. I've had a gap of 2 editions since I've played and getting back into 6th is the most fun I could have really. A friend and myself have been playing a campaign and "forging a narrative" and I'll randomly get text messages from him containing bits of fluff about it. There's about 5 pages worth now and we're keeping it just because it's so fun.

I understand it's not for everyone and some people are happy with just a few aspects of the hobby, but when I have such a great experience I want others to as well :smile.:

Step one for adding lamellar skirts to my jetbikers: laying down the leather backing that the plates would be secured to:

I would have liked to get more work done than this today, but I had things to do around the house and I decided I really needed to clean up my desk. It's not done, but I made a lot of progress.

After:

The plan is to organize all of my unbuilt figures and bits so it's easier to find stuff for conversions and whatnot. I bought some storage stuff that I will eventually sort everything into and label.

I tried for the lamellar armor on my jetbiker today:

I had planned on having the afternoon to myself before work, but life got in the way so it was kinda rushed. IMO, the lamellar plates are too big, both width and thickness, and they don't overlap like they should. But, it was my first attempt at this and I think the next try will be better.

If you want them to over lap how about doing the bottom set first then working up towards the hip area? That way you can concentrate on a layer at a time whilst being able to overlap and get that 'plated' feel towards the Mongol armour?

Great work as always fella

Try number two!

One of the big problems I had with trying to make the plates smaller was that I didn't have a sculpting tool that would fit the job. My chisel clay shapers were a no-go because the big was WAY too big and the smaller one wasn't rigid enough and the point was too fat. Looking through the metal ones didn't yield anything useful either. So I made one out of a spare piece of sprue.

Dorn's Fist has the right idea. The second try looks great but you know you want them over lapping BCK. Plus by doing them a section at a time you can make them not so... Uniform? With how they look now if a Mongol had worn it a arrow or spear would peirce it. I know it's ornamental but as a speed addicted warrior he would want it functional as well?
Ignore my above comment after seeing your other post with illustrations included. I was saying scale mail. Maybe jaspcat had it right with adding a smallish stud at the top of each plate showing how they were linked to the leather backing?
