Brother-Chaplain Kage
Some scraping and greenstuff and half the works done If you give him a book with a blood stain on it you can stay to the fluff iirc rogue traders are given a time with the big e's blood on it as a sign of their exempt status. From nemesis I'm sure You're right about the Warrant of Trade, but UGH, don't remind of that horrid, awful novel. I like the idea, but I don't think he would bring something that valuable onto a battlefied. Don't go carving into anything until I take a look at my bits first. Brother-Chaplain Kage
Just to show that I haven't given up the V Legion, I found some more goodies for inspiration today. First up is a historical model with some amazing lamellar armor on it. I need to figure out how the sculptor did this. http://i.imgur.com/tZhmKfp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/179nWtV.jpg And then this guy, 'cause I haven't seen it before: http://i.imgur.com/gCZQLpM.jpg?1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278032-bcks-thread-of-stuff-super-heavy/page/28/#findComment-3507730 Share on other sites

Brother-Chaplain Kage
Aye, don't give up on the Scars ! I'll be looking for inspiration myself when I get round to my lot. I'm not, and hopefully by the time their rules come around, I'll have all my custom bitz and a better job with a bigger paycheck for all those jetbikes I'm gonna need. I started in on the RT conversion, because I have 3 copies of each of the Masters of the Chapter, and the first box I bought was truly a nightmare of Finecast, and honestly, the master of the fleet was so bad off, I was waiting for some excuse to chop him up and make some use out of him. I set to work with Dremel and blade, saving the Crux from his chest and the aquila rodeo belt buckle before really going to work. While I'm not quite done with removing marine detail from him(mostly just the left leg now), I am taking a break and thought I'd post some before/after progress: http://i.imgur.com/CENvjtu.jpg First thing to do was trim that barrel chest down a LOT, thin the left forearm out, cut down the shoulder pad area, and after removing the belt buckle, the triangular fold in the middle of the tabard no longer made sense, so it was removed as well. Note that this is not a true before/after because the before pic is the best of 3, and on the right, you can see the huge void that ate the bottom part of his foot and all the tiny voids that made the bottom of his tabard and cloak look threadbare and tattered. ephrael
And now that you have taken blade to resin I've had a counter idea. What about one of the old RT era terminator armored inquisitors as your rogue trader? Specifically the one with the bionic leg and long hair. They are significantly smaller than a space marine too. Brother-Chaplain Kage
I know, I know... when I get the converting itch, it's gotta be scratched. Even if I don't end up using this as my RT, I've wanted to do a model version of that art piece since I first saw it a couple years ago. Brother-Chaplain Kage
You mean this old guy? Yes I do. I do like that figure a lot, but as awesome as he is - I dunno if you can tell in the pic but he has a frigging ring on his powerfist with a inquisitorial rosette on it - he's showing his age quite a lot. Maybe I could convert an updated version of him. Blame me for pushing the kage to unleash his gift He'd have done it with or without me Yup. The second might be a while. I'll try to get a better pic of this later, if you want, but here's a close up of the ring. Brother-Chaplain Kage
How many =I= terminators are there? Besides the one I have I know of only one more - the one with the hood and Scorpion/Sub-Zero mask. I just found out that the art piece of that Inquisitor is from a FW book and they made a model of him. How did I not know this? http://i.imgur.com/fOgLHF7.jpg?1 I think the sculptor would have been better off with the face more like the artwork, but if nothing else, I can use this as some inspiration for the clothing. I've also got an idea for a NL HQ, and I was considering using the rules of "Bloody Bones" Llansahai for him, but should I ever decide to play with this force, he can't be the compulsory HQ, and I also wonder how good a weapon Red Jaqa is. Anyway, he will definitely be living up to the Flaymaster title and it should do some of you other NL modelers proud. Brother-Chaplain Kage
A little progress on the RT today. Here's some more work reshaping the chest and seeing how the head looks on it: http://i.imgur.com/hq3oBiV.jpg Unfortunately, I had a little accident with the head shortly after this was taken, and if I can't salvage it, I mind have to find a replacement. I'm still not sure what to do for the little bit of breastplate that will be showing, so I decided to be safe and see what I could do for the left arm, with a glove, sleeve, and a decorative bit. http://i.imgur.com/7rCSG1X.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278032-bcks-thread-of-stuff-super-heavy/page/28/#findComment-3509257 Share on other sites
