I appreciate that the rule of cool trumps all though! :D And the idea of Word Bearer nose art is actually cool as :cuss. Wayyyy too time consuming though. I hate to say it but this is just a gaming piece, I don't have the time to spend too long on it :( And cheers Deathspectre! And yeah, more WORD is coming! I like the idea of faded 30k icons. This would be a very old machine, and it also means it wont look out of place in my 30k force. I am trying to strike a balance! Battle damage - Just the usual sort of chips and such. Nothing crazy. Tidy ups - I don't like how the bolter weapon things have turned out. They are okay, but I will likely return to them in the future. Base - Forge World weirdly provide the smallest flyer base for this thing, and it's pretty huge. I have tried to balance it but I am not happy. So if I don't have one spare I need to order one. Think that's it. Still, it's table top ready now! It's truly impressive how you manage to apply your very crisp, meticulous style of painting to ahuge vehicle like that! Regarding the decals, the Betrayal at Calth Word Bearer decals combine the burning book and daemon skull, creating a design echoing both the 30k and 40k legion badge. Maybe that would be the perfect solution here as well? Making them faded sounds like a cool idea in any case, though. And what about adding some of those Colchisian runes and cuneiform designs? I am off to my old gaming club tonight to say hi and maybe get a game in so I don't have time to finish it all off tonight. But if I get some time over the weekend I will be sorting out the decals and the script and runes! Once this is done I have to do a knight for my 40k Word Bearers. I didn't want to have to go down that route but the khorne lord of skulls, amazing though it is, is way too pricey points wise to compete. For 30k I have all of my infantry to build and paint up. Tzen Posted July 16, 2016 Author Share Posted July 16, 2016 Just ordered some Forge World transfers for the Fire Raptor (and a bigger base) so it is now on hold until they turn up. It's pretty much finished though, so now I have the decision of what to work on next. I need to do some more undead stuff for my AoS army, but in regards to my Word Bearers I need to decide on either: - A knight titan - Khorne lord of Skulls (used with knight titan rules) - Some 30k marines. As an aside here are some pics of Lorgar and the Gal Vorbak together. If I wasn't such a die-hard Imperial player, your work might even be enough to tempt me into trying my hand at a Chaos force. Someone suggested actually painting his skin gold. After trying a number of things I just decided to go with what I thought was best for me. I don't think it's a case of difficulty, just what you want to get from your own mini :) @Razakel - I am glad you like. I share yours feelings on chaos vehicles.
