I try to put a decent amount of time into these sorts of minis because it’s pretty satisfying to see the end result, especially when they are all in a finished squad. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/posse7.jpg However I also try to keep in mind they are just table top minis, they aren’t showcase (by any stretch of the imagination). However these models really do deserve some more attention at some point in the future, and I may spend a week or so at some point just working on one model. Additionally this weekend i cracked open the green stuff and got back into sculpting. It’s been an age since I did any sculpting and I want to get a bit more experience at it before attempting my landraider. Quick update, this guy is nearly finished. Need to glaze the hands a little more to get a darker flesh tone, and obviously need to touch things up here and there. I hadn't played a great deal during sixth edition, and have found myself a great new club (Wardens of the North for those interested!) to really get into seventh. Something that became glaringly obvious in my last three games was that the Chaos Codex is :cuss, and my army was composed largely of the :cusstest things in it. So in order to give myself a new edge in games I have decided to paint up some stuff that will make me slightly more competitive. These guys are some classic Plague Marines from way back in second edition (and older). I have some Forge World Plague Marines on the way too! Having said that it seems like one guy did pretty well at the BAO tournament with a fluffy 1KSons list, came 15th overall so it can be done. Edit - could you post a tutorial of how you did the fire on that possessed? I'm just about to start some on my Sisters and I would love it if it came out like yours. Once I have "finished" my Word Bearers I am doing 1K sons. I should have done them first if I'm toallt honest, but hey ho! And I will try to get a tutorial up if I can! I used some more of the nurgle rot special effects paint on this guy to get a feel for how I want to do them in future. I also don't like the green gloves so future minis will have black ones or red.
