Next update will include paint, I promise. ;)

For now... Who the hell is Captain Karlaen? Please welcome the new Master of Sanctity, of the Marines Errant.

Sweet stuff dude. 10/10 on the explosion markers. I was gonna buy some from Zinge Industries but they're like £2.50 each for about half the size. Any reason why you used a hot glue gun rather than PVA? or even superglue?

Just so you know, I'm going to go out and copy this right now - looks sick.

p.s. Master of Sanctity looks great. Massive improvement over Karlaen.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it! biggrin.png

Super Glue + Cotton Wool will start a fire, no joke lol. Its a good survival trick actually, since you often get super glue/cotton wool in med-kits. Something to keep in mind incase of zombie apocalypse.

PVA Glue might have worked, but it takes so long to dry, and tends to soak into everything you use it on.

A hot glue gun is alot quicker and more reliable, and they're dead cheap nowadays. I picked up one with 100 stick refills for a fiver on Ebay.

Make sure to post some awesome pictures of Mehreens + Explosions when you're done. biggrin.png

MoS is awesome, I still think the posing on the legs on that mini is slightly weird (may just be the angle all the pics of are taken?) but nevertheless he's way better than Captain Karlaen!

Thanks dudes! As always, appreciate the love and C&C.

Just a quick PiP to show how this guy will work out. Most of  the base colours are there, just need to finish each one to bring this guy to life.

Was worried about the helmet not fitting in once painted, but i think it works. Any thing I could change, colour co-ordination wise?

Helm looks perfect, classic Chaplain style!

On the colour co-ordination, how have you done the colours on the pads, can't quite see from the pics?

If you're going full Codex Adherent I'd probably suggest one painted Chaplain black (probably the left so you can use the Crux as his skull badge) and the other vertical split blue/silver with Chapter badge?

Also meant to ask before, what bit is the Crozius topper from?

I believe it's a backpack decoration from the Sternguard kit, I've thought it would make a good Crozius head myself many times, guess I was right. :)

EDIT: Yep, found an image of it.

The pads are,

Left : Silver,     Right : Blue

Is a split pad the codex adherent way of doing it? You may have just opened a box of OCD, my friend, haha. Crozius from the Sternguard kit, as SR has pointed out. :)

SWEET !!!! You need an Astral Claws helm or pad at his feet.

Will Red Corsair do? Consider it done.

Shweeet! Awesome use of the captain model!

Now that's putting this limited edition captain to good use!

Cheers guys! I started looking at him thinking about what to swap the hammer head for, and then it hit me... Crozius!

Now that's one cool chaplain! Mind sharing where mr. skull face got his skull face from?

Its one of the Night Lord helmets from Forge World. Picked it up off Ebay. :)

Hmmm, you make an excellent point. I can't actually think where I'm referencing from when I go with a split scheme pad, it may even just be my own personal thing and in no way official at all!

I guess it's just that if I remember right, the Codex way for Chaps is that the squad designation pad is painted black along with the rest of the armour and marked with a skull. Chapter colours are only shown on the other (left hand) pad along with the Chapter badge? In my head it just makes sense that if a Chapter has a halved/quartered scheme, they'd display it there by painting the pad halved/quartered/whatever... As I said before though, now I think about it, that may just be me!!!

In any case, it looks nice as is, so don't let my compulsive tendencies spoil it for you if you're happy!

  • 4 weeks later...

Tacs and Terms still in the works, however I decided to finish off this beauty, which I received last Christmas from an especially clued on girlfriend. ;) Haha.

Seemed only right that i should put the finishing touches on it. Probably a few things i've missed, generally is on any large model, but theres nothing like zoomed in photos to help find flaws.

Still (like all my other guys) need to add company markings, and kill markings (when i decide on one i like for tanks.) :)

The Alexandros, named for an ancient Grekan warrior, has been at the forefront of many decisive armour engagements undertaken by the Marines Errant. The mighty tank's indomitable spirit is well known, and rightly venerated by its comrades, and feared by its enemies.
