Yup! They are "brass etched templar" from ebay. Whether they are the original, or copies, is anyones guess. I was particularly happy that the one shield just perfectly nested on the side of the hunter/stalker. I also have a FW rear door on it as well.

Oooooh <Honda swoons> that looks awesome. Black and Red just look great next to each other. The highlighting looks even better now, did you do anything to it since the last pic?

I really have to get me one of those Hunters. I just love the look of the model.

Aye. The first highlighting (on page 1) was codex grey.

This was after going over that entire highlight a second time with administratum grey. My hands hurt. This model has a lot of edges.

Almost done the second line highlight, then metallics and coat #2 of red.

So, that black looks awesome. The only time I painted a vehicle (rhino), I had to repaint it all black because it looked so bad. I read your steps, thinking: Maybe I can do that! But.. 45 degree angle = with an airbrush?

That would make me sad as all I use are paintbrush :/ Maybe I'll manage something of the kind with drybrushing from above.

I took some comparison photos for you guys.  (Also kinda of a progression photo).

The tank on the left I painted a year or so ago.  It's got a single codex grey edge highlight (not the best), over chaos black primer with no washes.  The red is merchite red + blood red with an orange highlight.  Metallics weren't washed either.  (just boltgun) The hunter missile is on the left tank to provide additional comparison.  (I swap them back and forth in the photos).

The tank on the right is the new style.  Chaos black primer.  Light spray of base grey vallejo air over the top of the model.  Vallejo black wash.  Highlights are codex grey, then after it's dried, administratum grey.  (or however you spell it).  The reds will be merchite + blood, + black wash, + blood + orange highlight.  Metallics will be boltgun + wash, + chainmail highlight + weathering.

I thought of doing that as well Glaeken. But then I realized I just bought a bunch of forgeworld doors. Decisions! The stalker panels really make the tank look a lot beefier...the predator looks so wussy now by comparison.

Really nice work greggles. The reds defenatly make it pop and the pre shading adds to the depth of your shadows, excellent job.

Arthanor, you could try a light dry brush with on all the edges and the lower areas of anything raised filled by a wash which may not give the exact effect but it will be pretty close.

Hey Fellas!

Just got back from vacation.  Looks like the forum lost all sorts of posts.  Oh well!  Here is my latest on the storm talon (still in progress), should be finished this weekend.

And since it was accidentally removed, here's the previous hunter.  All my vehicles are following this setup now.

I got a lot of catching up to do...you guys have been prolifically busy.

Thank you very much for the kind words!  Yes those are forgeworld brass pieces...or so they say.  (might be copies).  They are a bit hard to work with.  The primer/paint flakes off of them very easily, even if you seal them.
