Hmm, maybe a relic eviserator may come to pass, but it is a great weapon in its own right now, hope it don't get nerfed. Anxious, (shudder) this is getting .....just over a week now....start by painting a unit this weekend...grr

you will not get a relic of a something that doesn't exist as a model. there is a higher chance to see a relic combi flamer [viw infinity flamez] or a super inferno pistol thingy.

The Canoness model comes with a giant chainsword that could easily be an Eviscerator though. tongue.png

I was just approximating, by the way, not getting confused, re: the ardent blade.

it is an eviscerator isn't it? Just being held one handed.

Preorders are now open for Codex: Adepta Sororitas on Black Library.  £19.99/$32.99 for the eBook edition.  Just preordered it myself.  Don't see the iOS version yet.

A few new pics on it as well, looks like the first page on lore, one artwork of a Battle Sister with a nun coif, and several stock model shots.

There's a link to the iStore, but no actual link to the Sisters Codex there. Possibly iStore hasn't updated yet, or they don't do preorders.

£20 isn't so bad, so I'll have to see what I have spare at the end of the month. Assuming I do have enough, I will get it! happy.png

the wimple sister picture is....wierd

It's something that they had originally, but over time just disappeared. Speaking of that picture, I wonder if they're going to ignore it, or put something in to explain it? As someone who collects the Marine army in question, I'm very interested in that! laugh.png

It is there, just on page 7 https://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/games-workshop/id536481148?mt=11&albumPage=7#albumPage

the IOS preview has a preview of the cannoness page

And a few other pages.  Hmm.  Of the Canoness, no price reduction per se, but the Rosarius upgrade for her got slashed by 10 points.  That's actually not half bad.  I always felt that thing was too expensive given she already had the 6+ Invuln anyway.

The "71" at the bottom of the Canoness page preview pleases me.

At that price I may actually be able to swing this (even in semi-exile due to real life duties).  Might have to borrow someone elses E reader as I don't own one.  I think my 4 year old has a spare though :)

Yes, I did really just say that...

When i look at the preorder it shows it as $39.99 for me. 40 bucks for an updated white dwarf rule set seems a bit steep considering we don,t get any new units, new models, and will have this codex replaced in the next year and a half give or take. Seems like GW is being to greedy for an army made up of outdated models. On top of that, they upped the price of the sister models to ludicrous prices. 83 dollars for 10 sisters when six months ago they were only 57. Nothing has changed same old models, why not just turn them into fine cast at least and make the army some what affordable to the consumer. I may break down eventually and get this insult of a des from gw, because maybe the warlord traits and acts of faith won't change when we get a real codex update with new models, but no way I will get more models that I may desperately need. It also means that eBay prices for the girls will now go up too since they were already going for close to retail before for second hand metal models most missing their backpacks as well.

I remember when plasma was xenos only ....

Chart 3 - Low Level Adeptus Arbites ...

... 50% chance of 1 of the following...

... Plasma Gun 61-80

The Imperium has had plasma guns since its inception.

The prices haven't changed a bit. remember those collections have special an heavy weapons along with a simulacrum imperialis. That ups the prices. Special Weapons are almost 10 and heavies are 14.

I'm deployed right now, but I go home in around 65 hours. I should be home by this weekend. I wonder if this will work on a nook? It should work on my laptop! I am really thinking about getting this. I already have a large army and I will order the couple of figures I need to complete a squad or two once I am home! I wish they would bring it out in book form also! Can't wait until they bring out a new codex for us!

Yes, it will work on a Nook.

From the previews, its more than just the White Dwarf dex. It looks to have a full background section like the other modern codexes as well, including full page spreads on each unit.

Does this make the WD codex useless? I dont plan on getting any form of digital dex or ipad thing now or in the near future so if this version makes the WD one useless i have another dust collector army. (or they become female spacemarines instead)

Yes.  And in the late 80's only the Space Elves had plasma.  If a plasma weapon was in the hands of a human, it was probably a captured weapon.  This is what the rogue trader did; they search the distant worlds for alien tech and assessed the planets for eith possible inclusion with the Empire, set up trade aggrements or just plunder and purge if they thought it was feasible.  Think Pirates of the Caribbean set in space.

RT was closer to Chainmail and relied heavily on role play elements.  You weren't building Imperial armies, you were putting together an adventure party.  RT was based around skirmish level encounters sort of like Necromunda.  Check the fluff.  Those rare and special weapons came from the Rogue Traders adventures in space and on worlds far outside of the Imperium's boarders.  That's why you had to roll and see if you could find one.

You're right, it was a very different and much more narratively driven game. I've checked the fluff in the book, and so far's I saw no faction had plasma by default. Even the elves had to roll for it with roughly the same odds as anybody else. The little snippets on plasma weaponry mostly note how finicky and unstable it is. If you have a citation that supports the assertion that it was a mostly elven technology, please provide it so I can expand my reference pool.

Plasma is little used in the Age of the Imperium, the safety margins necessary for its containment are too tight.

A plasma gun was rare and special because it was usually poorly understood archeotech, not because it was poorly understood xenotech.

But we also had half Eldar libarian before if I recall right.

Arguing Rogue Trader is funny thing, some things carry over, some things don't. At best it usually speaks to flavour, original intent, and vision.
