Excellent work on the Primaris LT. Are thos Ork skulls on his base?

Thanks Bjorn! Possibly... it's resin! :biggrin.:

Where from? they look great.

I think this one was from Dragon Forge – they are great indeed! Secret Weapon ones are also good, and you can get them from various eBay sellers.

Luther, not sure if you've done it but can you post photo's of your photo setup? I'd love to see how you're doing your back drop, camera/light placement, any special things you use, etc. Your pictures are fantastic and I am currently looking to up my photo game.

Thanks guys!

I wrote a little article on it ages ago, here, but since then I’ve made one important change which was to ‘upgrade’ my lightbox to one of these. Very happy with it indeed!

Thanks for the link!

I've got access to a large format printer at work so I think I'll be giving those a try. I guess I need to get out my DSLR and learn to manually operate it as well and get it off Auto mode.

Auto mode on most cameras is the pits. Think of it this way, a camera has a light meter that is always measuring light values. That light meter lives in a world of black and white. On auto mode, that meter is being told - "HEY, make everything GREY. As middle of the road GREY as possible, don't care about the highlights, shadows or any of that other bulls**t - AVERAGE EVERYTHING, I DON'T CARE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE".

And thus, a potato pic is born.

Shooting in manual is a learning curve, but one that has infinite rewards when it comes to image quality.

First squad of Reivers done. As these are the special ops of the force, I gave them a slightly darker, more muted colour to their armour.

Love it - well done with muting them but keeping the 40k "pop" of color.  Great job on the sergeant too - clever way to mark and keep that "pop" without saying "I'm in charge, shoot me!"

Also - I just started on my scouts, and I have to say, I desperately wish the CC weapon scouts looked like reivers :dry.:

This is a Space Wolf test model I've been working on for a long time. It has been stripped and re-painted several times, but I finally achieved a tone of blue-grey for the armour that I'm happy with. It was surprisingly difficult.

Please let me know what you think. If folks like it and want to know how it was done, I will produce a guide and do the same for the other loyalist legions.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad the test model is well received!

Well done. How will you decorate his base?

I will do a new model with step by step pics for the guide, and that one will be properly based. Need to figure out a good way to do snow / ice!
