Never thought I'd see the face of 'er maj' on a Storm Raven. Nice, cheap way of magnetizing vehicles, I suppose :D

As others have said, the red and black on your Blood Angels are beautiful. You have a force to be proud of here!

Thank you November!

Well, my Stormraven is waiting to be stripped after an unfortunate incident with some defective primer, and several fruitless attempts to rectify the damage. Don't ask.

Meantime, not strictly in keeping with the theme of the thread but I'm painting an Imperial Fist model for a friend and got him ready for priming today...

Also here are some more pics of Mephiston that better show off the sculping work done by Lamenter. I added some skulls to the base and will be starting work on paint soon...

Love the work you have done with your BAs especially the baldy DC brother that I shall be copying. :wub.:

Could you talk a bit about how the SR is magnetised please? Trying to figure out how to do the wings on mine my brain hurt too much, and I put it back on my long to-do list. :wacko.: Any help in that department is most appreciated.

Ok so turns out I don't have any pics other than the ones shown on the previous page, but basically there is one big self-adhesive magnet stuck to the top of the hull under the air intake, secured by some GS around the circumference. Then a stack of coins is held in place inside the air intake by a MASSIVE BLOB of GS. The strength of the large magnet plus the weight of the coins and GS holds the wings in place. I did also put some small magnets in those slits where the wings join the hull and corresponding ones on the underside of the wings. That combination is strong enough so that I can turn the whole thing upside down and it will hold.

Alas though, after all that I had a primer disaster (fuzzy finish) so I'm going to have to strip it and start again :(

Hey Luthermax, this is a great looking army, just my style, gritty and realistic looking, great modelling and painting, now following, I work in 15mm and have a 15mm Blood Angel army, I still plan on adding a lot to this army, would love for you to take a look and let me know what you think.

Those look awesome Templari – I'm always amazed to see such detail at such a small scale. I will be checking out your thread!

Well now ... *blows dust off thread" ... Mephiston will be coming soon (after some Orks which obviously I won't be posting here!). But for the Blood Angels I have been working on a Land Raider Redeemer / Achilles kitbash. Achilles because I think the assault cannons look a bit weedy on the LR chassis.

These are still WIP but all that's really left is weathering and OSL.

C&C welcome!

@ reckoning, cheers!

Drybrushing didn't work so well on this due to all the large flat areas so I airbrushed everything and just did some edge highlights:

1. Primed black

2. Highlight 1 with Vallejo Model Air Dark Grey Blue (airbrush)

3. Highlight 2 with Vallejo Model Air German Grey (airbrush)

4. Shading with GW Nuln Oil (airbrush)

5. Edge highlight 1 with Vallejo Model Color 164 Dark Bluegrey

6. Edge highlight 2 with Vallejo Model Color 162 Basalt Grey

The first highlights were done to the sides and top and the second the top only.

Gorgeous looking blood angels LutherMax! I love the gritty red and I REALLY love your yellow. Sorry to ask, but what is your recipe for yellow?

Also my favorite model you made is this one:
