Thanks for the comments!

@ GrandMagnus, can't help you there, the only Citadel paint I still own (apart from the Shades) is Red Gore!

I finished a little terrain / scenery / objective piece by Quantum Gothic.

It’s an excellent kit; well designed, excellent quality and great fun to paint. I wanted it to look like an ancient relic so have gone for a worn, rough look with the paint job. I have a few more kits courtesy of Quantum Gothic so expect more popping up here soon!

Thanks Midnight Runner, I'm a big fan of your Flesh Eaters by the way :)

High time for an update, hobby has been slow for me of late but there are some things in the pipeline.

Firstly, Mephiston MKII! Made by Master of the Forge and inspired by the one he made for me but for another client. The client has also asked me to paint the model in a similar scheme to mine with a few tweaks, which I am very much looking forward to.

I've also finally built the "new" Sanguinary Priest model, magnetised for pistol / chainsword or Relic weapons 'Fury of Baal' and 'Valour's Edge'.

5-man 'meltacide' squad with two meltagunners, two regular assault marines and sarge with combi-melta. They will ride in a pod but the backpacks are magnetised so they can have jump packs. The sergeant's weapons are also magnetised so he can have a pistol and power weapon for other uses.

And finally a heavy flamer dude for my tactical squad!

I really need to get painting...

Take your time brother, the end result will be more than worth the wait.

That said, those are some sexy miniatures-- and you've managed to make the squinchy GW mk 4 helmet look good on the melta marine AND the heavy flamer. That's impressive.

Incredible work as always. Can't wait to see Mephy v2.0!

Your 'liberal' nuln oil wash for your black recipe, are you spraying that through the airbrush? If not, how are you avoiding pooling etc on the flatter surfaces? Yours seems especially flawless while toning the grays down nicely.

So, as I will have a few vehicles to paint for the ETL, I gotta ask how you did the black on your Landraider.  There aren't any acute highlights, but it somehow isn't just one big smear of grey/black.

Seconding this, very wary of black on such large surfaces-- but yours look great!

Thanks for the comments guys!

The Land Raider was pretty simple really - primed black and highlighted with the airbrush using Vallejo Model Air Dark Grey Blue, German Grey and U.S. Grey (in that order getting smaller each time). Then I sprayed some Nuln Oil for some shading, mainly on the lower areas.

Did you use hard edging for the airbrush?  Zenithal?  Or did you airbrush along the flat parts and leave the edges alone?  It's hard to tell, and I must know!

@ Retributis, it's from the Forge World MKIV assault squad kit. My favourite space marine helmet :)

@ Firepower, it was kind of a mix of those three things, but mainly I highlighted towards the centre of the panels leaving the edges. I did do some edge highlighting too with a light grey - Vallejo Model

Color Medium Sea Grey I think...
