lionofjudah
Mr Warriorfish, the commiserate wilt not hath reason to preclude my first vow by me not finishing my second... WarriorFish
It's looking good, the weathering works well - is that Typhus Corrosion I spy? Have you also applied a wash to the rivets? I think your colours are a good combination :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3812122 Share on other sites

WarriorFish
Two washes for the rivets? Does it make much of a difference compared to just one? lionofjudah
Warriorfish...in the middle picture the plates and hinges have the washed out brown of the agrax liberally applied and then I came back with a 0 detail brush for the Nuln... I think it defines the shading much better Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3812284 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Aha, yes I see it. Makes a difference indeed - I'll try it out :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3812572 Share on other sites

WarriorFish
Great stuff, I used your Chimera as the source for doing my weathering and it turned out great :) The hazard stripe yellow could do with another coat as it stands out a bit too much compared to the black but otherwise it's looking fantastic. Yet another excellent completion to Treads and Thrusters, I'll be keeping an eye out for the supporting background bits. I hope you'll continue the top notch work for the next painting challenge ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3816637 Share on other sites
lionofjudah
yes...the yellow needs another coat...so much so that I almost started over as its a PITA to do smoothly :/ Glad it worked for you Warriorfish! I am ready and accountable for the next painting mission ... may not see the table anytime soon but they will look good when they are able to make it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3816664 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
The base yellow works for me, it's the old one though - Iyanden Yellow. Work up a few thinner coats and it gets a nice rich yellow :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283143-working-on-my-guard/page/9/#findComment-3816698 Share on other sites
Nicodemus Doloroso
For my money I think the yellow looks great as is -- the whole point of those hazard stripes is that they stick out and I don't think it's too much here. I would not do another coat myself. Great model and great conversion no matter what.
