~Hey guys! This is Juv Tannen leader of the raptor talon within the 51st! hope you guys like him!

He's a stylish mofo. Is that a Forge World helmet on him? I've been interested in picking up some of those.

Thanks man! It's the captains head from the forgeworld pack. They are very cool I gotta say.

I heard a rumor today from a guy who supposedly is quite reliable that 8th edition is coming in June. It got me thinking, Gw has been listening to it's fans of late, and it's widley known that fear can be...well...pants. In 8th wouldn't it be cool if they made fear do something great? Maybe a passive ability that would help fight space marines.

Please...everyone estimates 8e to be around june. I myself told my friends that it'll probably around june as soon as we knew that GS3 will be 3 books with each months 1. :D

However I wouldn't assume fear becoming much better. So many factions are either completely immune to LD stuff or have high LD. That's nothing a new edition could change just like that unless they we gonna have to roll with 3d6 for it. But even then all Space Marines and CSM Legions would be immune to fear since their army wide special rule says so.

Well the rule says immune to fear tests? Does it? I don't actually know. IF that were the case then adding a passive ability to fear that didn't require a check would bypass that.

I guess the best we can hope for for the night lords is better night fighting rules!

Yeah it does. And why the hell would they give fear an additional rule that bypasses the special rules that are supposed to protect against fear? That would just make things worse from a design standpoint.

I don't know, maybe because literally everyone I have ever spoken to agree's that fear is pretty bad and is almost bad enough that it could be left out of the game entirely because space marines ignore it.

It was a question, chill your beans.

Yeah it IS bad but adding something to a rule that lets it bypass another rule that's supposed to protect from it is just as bad. There should simply be less models with such a special rule as ATSKNF or Fearless and that's something a new Codex has to address not a new core rulebook.

Don't worry i'm chill as heck. Just explaining to you why that won't happen. ;)

Yeah I get your point, Sadly space marine codexes only have up to go towards further imbalance. And with the return of Fuhrer Ward and NEW space marines. Yeah not happening.

But back to Night Lords, I wonder if there is anything we could get from 8th? Better night fighting rules? Better shrouded maybe! We should be able to fight the entire battle during night time.

Well, maybe will be a good idea to make a fresh one, with an index, updated content and a link to the old thread. Since looks like the OP isn't caring of this one?

The nature of this thread doesn't require the OPs activity, no? It's more the go-to thread when you have some questions regarding or want to banter about our favourite Legion. I'd hate to see this veritable tome wither away. Plus it's still quite active.

Isn't there a moderati other than Flint13 who visits here often? S/He could update the first post in one go, from roughly page 100. It'd take about 20 minutes to do.

Meanwhile, we could start listing links and other sources that could be added to the first post.

I think Flint13 has been taking a break from BnC. That said, if that's a big deal, you could start a new thread, put a link to the first post so everyone can see it, a post to the last post so we see where everything left off, and then talk to Excessus or one of the other Chaos Mods and have this one locked off so everyone can transition to the new one.

But it is NOT a big deal. This thread is fine, and no-one has a problem with it being a big thread. Creating a new thread will only over-complicate things. Let´s just keep on trucking here. :tu:

Isn't it better having someone with an active interest than asking someone to do it for us?

One of us is going to have to compile all the stuff anyway, how is it going to be worked hereon? Every 20 pages gather info, ask for update?

Genuine questions I don't mean to sound picky :p

Well, the problem is that the posts can only be edited by the person who posted them, and Mods and Admins. Flint did and does have an active interest in the Night Lords. It's just that whatever in her personal life is keeping her from BnC is keeping her from BnC. Which happens to everybody because let's face it, hobbies wax and wane. Some periods we're super gung-ho, others we fall into a lax. Same thing happened with Brother Nihm, Brother Heinrich, DantheDeamon, and a whole slew of others who are still huge Night Lord Fans, but for one reason or other, are either pursuing different parts of the hobby, or different hobbies all together.

That's just how life works at the best of times. At the worst of times, something bad happens and that has to take priority. Sometimes, you get sick, and your health keeps you away.

So yeah, we could find another mod/admin who is a huge Night Lord fan and might have an active presence for three days, three weeks, or even three years, but just like the rest of us, they'll hit a period where they either just lurk, or don't even come on. Maybe even leave.

But there will always be a mod for the Chaos subforum. So until Flint comes back, or another mod/admin decides to step in, the best thing we can do is either ask, or just periodically make a post that contains all of the updated info. Probably wouldn't be too bad of an idea to put it closer to the end anyways cuz mobiles are weird about letting you go back to the first page.

Meanwhile, almost two years after this post on page 97, which suggested starting a new thread when this one reached 100 pages, we're now on page 141.

Shhh. Just let it happen.
All sneaky-like! :ph34r.:
