The Infernal Guard - Bikernauts

The Burned Man must be the "mini of the week" for me. It was the name that drew me in to look at your thread but I wasn't prepared for this at all. Seldom you get such a strong story from a miniature just by looking at it. Great job mate!

Sweet Sacred Throne, that's utterly amazing! jawdrop.gif
Calling it now - we're probably not going to see a better use of the Vulkan model for the rest of the year.
It'd be a privilege for the corpses of the Astral Wolves to decorate the base of such a badass Primarch.biggrin.png

Cheers Kor'Vesh

I'm getting the bug back a little bit so I might add some to the casual challenge. It's a bit hit and miss with me regarding whether it motivates or dissuades. Currently working on the Space Hulk librarian.

After working on ForgeWorld for so long it seems very crude and simple. Lots of fill in to avoid under hangs. But it's very easy to paint.

Starting painting the second Contemptor

Also put together another 9 tacticals and the Venator (with H Bolters).

More Dreadhead goodness, just what the Apothecary ordered... yes.gif

BTW Adra, is there any possibilty of a Dorito Deredeo Dreadnought joining your two Contemptors sometime in the future do you think? smile.png

Definitely. I was going to get a Mortis but why would I do that now? The plan is that they use more dreads than tanks. I'm tempted to get another Contemptor and kit bash it with Bray'arth Ashmantle to make Cassian Dracos. Really don't like the normal dreads.

Cassian Dracos? But wasn't he the Terran Master of the XVIII before Vulkan? Wouldn't that make him a Solar Tiger in the Corax Coup?

It's a Dreadnought special character in the FW rules rather than Cassian Dracos. I was going to have him be the first to join Melek on Nocturne. Right at the beginning when Melek first came across the human settlers. I did have a name but I can't remember it now.

Oh, you meant using Cassian Dracos's rules rather the actual character, right?

The Praetor/Centurion/Delegatus is finished (finally)

I'm in a closing stage at the moment. Trying to finish off all the started ones.

I plan on doing the battle damage on the Death Guard Dread as though it's bleeding molten metal. Not sure how it'll look but here's the start. It differentiates it from the first if nothing else.

It is hard to tell on my phone, but I can see a few spots where you can achieve that. You might already be doing it, so bear with me.

That orange spot, on the chest dribbling down? Put a crater there, like a Bolter shell hit a weak point and cracked it open a bit. Like it's a shallow hole into the magma core, glowing yellow and orange.

The forked stream on his visible claw? Make it look like it is coming from the inside of the elbow joint, flowing downwards, splitting because of the curve, to that dip just before the claws, then pooling there and slowly starting to dribble around the wrist joint inside that groove.

Do that kind of thing around its whole chassis. Keep it subtle and few if you are just looking for a proud warrior bearing fresh wounds alongside black scars(!!! How did nobody think of black scars, like cooled lava?! DO IT), or thoroughly covered, even limping or leaning, like a dying but unbowed legend.

Not sure how to do the darkened edges but...

I know very little about daemon stuff so please correct if nonsense.

Timeline

Adra'Melek is reunited with the XIV Legion.

Infernal Guard delayed on the way to Ullanor by Sarosh betrayal - the rage at the Emperor's fall is unleashed on Sarosh resulting in every living creature being destroyed. This is the being of the fall of the XIV.

The Legion spend the next few years putting down rebellions across the Imperium. Their retaliation because more and more extreme as Melek's and his Legion's paranoia increases. Fury at the betrayal of tthe Emperor's ideals builds. The Angels work with the Wardens of the XIV and corrupt their traditions to draw the attention of Khorne.

Corax sends the XIV and XVI to confront the I, planting the seeds of mistrust in Melek.

Adra'Melek and Horus to fight the I, pushing them back into the Palatine, until some act cause the Infernal Guard to turn on the Astral Wolves. This culminates in a confrontation between the Burned man and the Lupercal, resulting Horus' death and the ascension of Melek as a Daemon-Primarch of Khorne.

The Legion rampages through the Imperium until the fall of Corax and the co-ordinated efforts of the remaining Legions loyal to the Imperium drive them into the Eye of Terror.

The Legion takes 8 daemon world's, one for each Circle. They spend countless centuries warring amongst themselves on each world to gain dominance. Once true leader, who can unite the whole Circle in identified they leave the world to Attack a rival powers' world or another Circle. This continues as each world gains or loses Khorne's favour. Occationally, a crusade will be launched into real space. The drive of the XIV is forever the destruction of the Imperium, the Golden Throne is seen as an abomination, abusing the Emepror's remains as their culture abuses his ideals.

Hunting around for my unpainted bloodletters and found this fellow

Not too bad but I'm going to redo it. And the hunt goes on (if only I had a Flesh hound to help).
