Only victory is honourable - White scars - Siege of Terra

The green is so unusual. Really really nice. I'm going to play it safe I think and just go with greys lol.

Interestingly after you talking about the raptor symbols I was toying with linking in the Storm lords to mine and maybe doing my Praetor as the guy who founded them. Half and half scheme for the Praetor anyone? Lol.

It's amazing how much inspiration your models are giving me!

I have to say your work is fantastic! I have resurrected this account so I could tell you that your White Scars have made me want to do my own 5th Legion for Heresy. I hope to achieve half of your ability in painting and conversion.

Great scars man, nice neat paint job and awesome weathering, these guys have obviously been through a lot.

What's more, great pictures, they show both your painting skills and photographic skills very nicely :)

Perhaps you could tackle one of the top dogs in the legion?

Jemulan, Hasik, Yesugai, or Qin Xa?

I saw this over at the WiP section (Jubal Khan, the Lord of Summer Lightning, the Swift Death that Comes with Laughter)

I would love to see your take on a major "hero" character

What did you use for the sheathed sword may I ask? Im struggling to find some variety in Asian-themed weapons at this scale at present.

Also, I'm looking for the right sized V for my shoulder pads. Did you use a particular transfer sheet or make your own?

One thing about the Scars I've struggled with; did they use any markings or numerical symbols etc other than the red tribal marks?

Thanks for all the support !

The katana is from from some old Rackham (Confrontation, Goblins) minis, no longer produced unfortunately. I also struggled since most of swords are far to big, however on those I found the scale perfect.

The transfer is from the normal space marine sheet, from a squad number as far as I remember.

For your last point, it's always risky to go in one direction before FW has published the fluff. So I decided to stick to the art we've seen and add here and there some personal inputs : some Chinese and Japanese references on top of the Mongolian influence, a personal brotherhood symbol, etc. Not going to far is key to future integration to the FW visual imho.

Hope this helps ! smile.png
