Hoping to have the 2nd half finished this week after which I plan to paint up Voss as a centre piece character. Also, I really wish I could paint lightning as tiny and perfect as you can. Please keep up the awesome work! I do have a question for you. What size chain did you use on your Contemptor? I'm struggling to find one from a hobby store that isn't waaaay too big for pretty much the exact same purpose. Yours looks just the right size. Fracture Posted July 19, 2014 Author Share Posted July 19, 2014 Hey guys, glad you both like them. Flint - I THINK the chain was the 0.96 MM stuff from Bases of War. All the other bits of chain are from either the chaos mounted marauder, flagellants or various DE kits. Augustus - I was rather happy when I found that old las cannon in a bits box. Work on the contemptor is going well, me and a few friends are hoping to have a campaign style weekend at Wayland later in the year so it's given me an incentive to get 1500 pts finished by November. Looking forward to the fun gory details tomorrow evening. Augustus. - I really appreciate that mate. I really wasn't sure if my way of doing blue was going to scale up to the Contemptor well. Right until the final glaze I was sure I was going to cock it up, all turned out well in the end though. 1000heathens. - I was really chuffed when I found that old las cannon at the bottom of a box and it fitted well with just a bit of green stuffing. Fracture Posted August 7, 2014 Author Share Posted August 7, 2014 Augustus & Peredyne - the face is base coated in Administratum Grey and then washed with a mix of nightshade and nuln oil. It is then highlighted with Administratum with wych flesh added to high light up. The corpse flesh is base coated in cadian flesh time and then washed with Earthshade. Re highlight with cadian and add Kislev flesh to highlight. Once highlights are done add a glaze of Earthshade again. The flayed skin is based with Kislev flesh and gets a Carroburg Crimson wash. Re highlight with Kislev and add wych flesh until your using almost pure wych flesh. If people are interested I could do another step by step for these although they're pretty straight forward. Hellath - they're more than likely from the Hellion box set. Have a failed DE army myself and a girlfriend that collects them gives me a good source of chains and skulls etc. horde o bitz are great for these sort of things as well.
