Wow these guys are popular! I finished two more of them, removed the eye glow of the first two and replaced the first's chaos warrior helmet with a 'real' World Eater helmet.

What do you think?

The champ. Dunno if he'll end up being the champion, as I prefer those to have a sharper weapon or harder punch than a regular chainaxe.

'Zerker number four. I must say I would have prefered his left arm to be slightly higher, so that his axe would not obscure his face, but those weird zerker bunny ears blocked the axe.... :ohmy.:

@KrautScientist: Thanks man! And you are totally right about the glow. I liked the helmet (and you ARE critical - but that's what I asked for and appreciate - it's what makes me improve my hobbying), but indeed it lacked the WE vibe. I can't wait to put some of those awesome weapons, helmets and the banner on one of these guys?

@oldschoolsoviet: Thanks for the feedback mate. TOtally agreed. Fixed it.

@Anaziel: My thanks to you kind Sir!

@Brother Captain Kage: Lolz. I hate cats. But still. Lolz. Eyes fixed

@Flint13: I know about the mold line! That's why I explicitely wrote down "Dat mold line" :tongue.: Oh well, too late...

@Tarvick: More are on the way! I find that doing two at a time keeps the motivation to do more up!

@Pearson73: Cheers mate! Posing is key imo, so I'm happy you wrote that

@Atia: Ha! You're the only one! I removed them. (To get back at you for making me like Sallies)

@TanHausen: Duuude! As a jab at your failure to send me a termie to put on my titan's base (after your vow during last year's ETL), I decorated the champ with a nice DA helmet.

@Biohazard: Great sounding music, mate!

Excellent 'zerkers. Given how poor the existing kit is you kind of need to make your own to get anything half decent. Using Mk. III armour as the basis for them was absolutely the right move, it has a heft to it that other marks don't and really lends itself to hulking melee specialists.

Lovely, i think you've convinced me of finally getting some FW goodies!

And those bunny ears are a curse, try getting the more elaborate ones to fit between the shoulderpads of a terminator:)

atia is not alone mate, i loved the eye glow, maybe because i use a red version on my own night lords:biggrin.:

and even without the glow, i still really like your zerkers, very nice mix of parts and great posing, my favourite detail is the chained skull on the tabard of the horned guy :tu:

Excellent work on those models! The champion certainly looks the part -- the pose alone is enough to sell him as a total badass!

I like the reduced glow as well! I do have to say that I feel the guy with the Skullcrusher helmet would profit from a controlled application of brown wash on his facemask, though, in order to make the recesses darker again and bring back the definition -- I am insufferable, I know ;)

@forte: Cheers mate. You do realize I'm aiming for the mark of khorne, yes? :tongue.:

@helterskelter: Thanks HS, I don't aim to change the guy, just meant gamewise he'll prolly be just another berzerker.

@sockwithaticket: The berzerker kit is about 15 years old now, so no wonder we're tired of 'm. Back in those days though, they where state of the art. For that reason alone I love to still use them for parts. And your comment about the MkIII is exactly the reason I'm using those legs. I see berzerkers as hulking brutes, and the hefty armour really nails that image.

@ElDuderino: Yes! More FW Goodness. Although mind you, parts alone don't automatically get you cool mini's. I pay particulate attention to pose. If I may be so bold as to give advice: mimic the pose your aiming for in the mirror and try to convey that in your model (this works especially for contemptors - I've seen some almost ridiculous poses out there and it really helps to make them more believable). About your terminator pads vs khorne bunny ears comment, I'm not sure what you mean! Tell me more! :D

@Atia: Thanks Atia. At least Wicced backed you up. When will you start work on Vulcan???

@Wicced: That chained skull is something I've wanted to do for a long time and I can finally pull it off now that I have 28LPI brass chain available. So I'm happy you like it!

@KrautScientist: Dude, you're not insufferable. I really appreciate all the feedback you're giving me. The truth is, I forgot to rewash the facemask so your comment about the wash is totally on point. The fact that you cought that even though the pics where (admittedly) of less-than-perfect quality only goes to show you have a keen eye. Wow. :tu:

@Atia: Thanks Atia. At least Wicced backed you up. When will you start work on Vulcan???

=) i'll start to build him and the titan ~2-3 weeks before the ETL starts^^

is that a crux terminatus?

you ... are ... such ... a ... heretek!!! :D

Freakin' sweet!

Gosh those Berzerkers are good looking. I think the introspective one with a single horn is my favorite. It looks almost like he had a shocking moment of clarity in the middle of a slaughter and had to stop to ponder on it before the nails took him again.

Oh man those are some nice bezerkers. No matter how old a kit is (I still like the berzerker kit personally) when in the hads of a skilled painter you will never tell the difference.

Am starting to fell the urge to return to 40k painting, fulled by the likes fo yourself.

Jeez, these dudes are popular! Thanks everyone!

I invested in a new spot for my lightbox and in some backgrounds to take pictures from. They're A2 copies of these awesome backgrounds from MASSIVE VOODOO, that forte once pointed me to. Thanks forte ;)

I've fixed my phone camera to a cheap tripod from aliexpress and did some fiddling with the settings, et voila:

@Brother Chaplain Kage: Dude, that's a very humbling compliment which I will accept on the condition that you acknowledge that I'm definitely NOT the only person here who kitbashes and converts great Khornate miniatures. Thank you though, I'm thankful that you're such a regular visitor and commenter: they make me go!

@Atia: Good to hear you're doing the reaver for the ETL. It'll give you HH lovers a chance against us Chaos followers. ;) And yes, that is a crux terminatus and I accept that heretek comment as a compliment. I bow to you, mylady.

@Midnight Runner: Cheers mate!

@Flint13: Haha perhaps he has such a moment. Perhaps he had a dejavu or something. After having just killed an entire family, he'd be like: "didn't I kill that guy before?"

@The Hydra: Yes! Come to the grimdark side!

What an awesome squat -- consider me green with envy, mate! ;) As I've said earlier, the champ really looks the part -- I'm with Flint about that subtly contemplative quality the model has. Oh, and I totally forgot mentioning that I think you really nailed it with the rock and gravel around the Marine helmet: It makes for a much more natural looking pose!

Now on to the next models! Quickly, I am already pressing Refresh at regular intervals from sheer anticipation!

Thanks guys! I'm really enjoying my new photo setup - so I made some individual pics of the two new Berzerkers I painted up tonight.

Berzerker 5. This guy's legs are repositioned MkIII running legs (right leg forward  ). I want more of these!

Berzerker 6 - the icon bearer. THANKS FOR THE BANNER KRAUTSCIENTIST :tu: :tu:

Aaand the whole squad up to now.

@KrautScientist: 'Green' with jealousy? Kraut, your spat with the putrid blightkings where one thing, but do we need to worry about something? ;) Thanks again for the awesome banner - I really appreciated it. Also, the rock-for-stability-tip was your idea, so thanks for that too :d

@Tarvick: Thanks! Well, what do you think?

A2! Wow. I only use A4 (good though eh).

Now you really have a flair for World Eaters. Think you need at least another two, or ten. And a Lord to go with them. Transport maybe too.

@ Augustus b'Raass: Not to worry mate: Just a turn of phrase (it exists both in English and in German, although I don't know which colour signifies envy in the Hive Slums of Amsterdam ;).

The latest models are excellent, and I am really happy that you've put the banner to good use! Maybe you should consider experimenting with the pose of the head on the banner bearer, though: At the moment, it looks as though he's looking upwards in adoration -- not neccessarily a bad effect for an icon bearer, to be sure, but a true berzerker should maybe be looking along his bolt pistol's barrel instead? ;)

Don't worry: I've already put a devious plan in motion that should compel Augustus to give us yet more World Eaters -- let's call it the old tactical bitz drop assault, shall we? ;)

@forte: Yeah I went for A2 because I want better pics of my Lord of Skulls. And no worries. My Night Lords try to stay pure, but my World Eaters are going straight down the EIGHT-fold path.

@Flint13: Thanks! The chaos star is just an edged brass thing from FW. The text is freehanded though. :tu:

@KrautScientist: Hehe, yeah envy is green in Dutch too. :biggrin.: And YES there will be three squads of eight Berzerkers each. And a contemptor with two chainfists. And a lord on a juggernaut. And perhaps a berzerker bike squad. And ok, maybe a spartan.  :biggrin.:

Edited by Augustus b'Raass

Yay! That lineup makes me so happy! And we'll need a Termie Lord, of course. And some smaller Daemon Engines. And...

...

...wait, at this rate, nobody will ever spare my own World Eaters a second glance -- what have I DONE? :(

Seriously, though: I am really looking forward to seeing all those wonderful Khornate madmen take shape!

@KrautScientist: Dude if you stop updating your thread I'll personally leave the hive slums of Amsterdam and venture into the lands of the Jhermani (I have your address now hahahaha) to force you to continue. ;) We need to see that Blood Red I sent you to good use.

But seriously: what kind of 'smaller Daemon Engines' do you have in mind? A Blood Slaughterer with an Impaler perhaps?? :d

@Tarvick: Dude we all need to step up our game. Kraut's advice really helped me to do just that, and the B&C-wide Event I'll be hosting soon will encourage just that in all Frater.

@forte: YES! Great idea. Although it's a shame Lords on Juggernauts can't be transported... oh well. Guess we'll be making more Lords :D :D
