The Thudd Gun conversion sounds pretty convincing. Can't wait to see a mock up. As for the shield, I was thinking maybe a black field, with a yellow diagonal stripe with the squads numerical designation in white. Kind of a mix between unit and personal heraldry.

That means my techmarine, as the first to be named, is in charge! Mwahahah

Love the idea of tracked Thudd guns, it'll be physically large enough while still having a space marine-ish look. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

@Atia: I see that you've since editted your post and added the SA thudd gun. That one does look cooler than the Space Marine one, indeed. Had I known about it before I got my idea, I would have considered it. But now I have this conversion idea in my head and I can't get it out. So I think I'm still buying the Thudd Guns.... ;)

@codyrstuart: Good idea on the shield! I'll think about it. :)

@Black_out: Indeed he will be :)

haha no worries :D atleast you can make use these Kataphron tracks! Tbh, i may do the same one day with a Blood Angels version (or just use it like it comes with the wheels like in 1st edition? hehe)

:thumbsup:

Haha well the wheels giving off that 1st edition vibe made me consider them in the first place - but then my thoughts stumbled upon the Kataphron tracks and... well, there was no going back after that. ;)

Toooooons of stuff done this past week: the chaplain, the razorback and II tactical Squad. I've also build another tactical squad.

Here's the chaplain. I like this model because besides some teeny tiny airbrush highlighting on the left arm and both legs, I handpainted this guy completely. It was a joy to blend all the greys together on the cloak and the yellows on the armour and banner. :smile.:

And the razorback:

The scroll reads 'ANVILLUS REX' or King of the Anvils. No idea how that's relevant, it was just a name that came to me when I painted this thing in my local shop. :smile.:

I'll owe you the pictures of the squads later. :smile.:

Thanks for looking and for your C&C. :thumbsup:

@Dosjetka: Thanks buddy. Steal away!

@thamier: Cool! Thanks for the name. He's added to the list. Is it ok if you'll be the lascannon guy in VI tactical squad?

Edited by Augustus b'Raass

So you tell us you've painted Tactical Squad II and yet you don't even show 'em to us? How rude ;)

(Tarkys looks awesome. So does Anvillus Rex. Excellent :tu:)

Pictures! Sorry I held out on you lot - had to fix a lamp.

II Tactical Squad

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20151227_027_zpskzohwpqn.jpg

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20151227_005_zpsxwp0xdd5.jpg

Veteran sergeant - Bernad Jakin - MrBear
A former breacher, Sergeant Jakin of II Squad has kept his breacher shield. He brings it to war when up-and-close fighting is expected, and has a reputation in Fifth Company as a cunning strategist, as well as a mean fighter. Jakin scratches close combat kill markings on the inside of his shield each campaign, a habit he has picked up from brother Valgraf.

Comms specialist - Kilian Miattas - HellChyld
As a communications specialist and spotter for the heavy weapons operator, brother Miattas performs a pivotal role in II Squad. Known for his expressive nature, he is sometimes berated by sergeant Jakin for cluttering the squads vox link with overtly descriptive chatter.

Heavy Weapon Specialist (Lascannon) - Hartwin Wolv - Teetengee
An expert marksman, brother Wolv rose through the ranks of Fifth Company to become a Devastator within three decades. He was chosen by Jakin to bolster II Squad's anti-armour role. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20151227_016_zpsuf5ovqrs.jpg

Battle Brother - Odram Valgraf - Apologist
Brother Valgraf is young, ambitious, and displays a stoic aggression. These traits has led him to specialize in void warfare, for which he is sometimes called upon by the company´s command. His armour, including the anvillus pattern backpack, reflects his specialty.

Battle Brother - Ernust Konad - codyrstuart
A former sergeant, Konad failed to complete his vow of killing 100 greenskins in a day during the Ortan Crusade of 987.M40. Instead of the pain glove, Konad chose to serve for a decade as a brother-of-the-line, as punitive action. During this time, he fulfilled a pivotal role as counselor to Sergeant Jakin and the other members. His stony friendship with Brother Valgraf is the source of camaraderie within the squad.

@Dosjetka: Thanks buddy. I editted the post to inlcude the name you gave him, of course. Apologies for that delay too :wink:

@Atia: YAy! Thanks girl!

@Quixus: Much appreciated, Quixus! I had the helmet since early 2012, and am very stoked he finally was used. :smile.:

@Knight of the Raven:
~Poetry is swell and nice
~Except when we're to war

~Then the Fists are cool as ice.

@The Psycho: Cheers, buddy!

@Tarvick: I'll make pics of the next tactical squad tomorrow morning and post them.

@kizzdougs: ^^your wish is my command! :wink: And thanks for the inspiration to brother Valgraf. :thumbsup:

No worries, mate. I just enjoy every opportunity I have to tease you ;)

But seriously, it's very frustrating seeing you churn out so many excellent models with such speed and quality. You would make Dorn proud, you filthy traitor :P

Aw! Thanks, buddy!

Great Chaplain, cool Razorback and a smashing squad! Vet.Sgt. Jakin looks even more brutal and inspiring now when he's finished. A strange, yet fitting, coincidence is that my old O&G-army used to have two axes on their banners... :biggrin.:

I think you have done a little 'mix-up' in Ernust Konad's background though, you've written 'Valgraf' in a couple of places where it should be 'Konad' instead.

Thanks everyone! Glad you liek the squad.

Here's the WIP pics of the seventh five-man squad I'll be painting for my 1250 tournament list: IV Tactical Squad.

Veteran sergeant - Fidurik Kolan - Barabbas Sogalon

Kolan is based on one of the horribly posed bodies that come with a rapier platform. I boiled the body though, and managed to bend his left leg backwards and outwards, which gives him a slight mid-stride sense of motion, that was tolerable enough to use him as the bear of an astartes I imagine him to be - which I wanted mostly because Barabbas Sogalon's name always sounded like a name for a big guy to me. :wink:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20151227_037_zpsxby2b9pi.jpg

Comms specialist - Jacobu Wenreich - stepper

My thanks go out to KrautScientist, who provided me many of the Mechanicum antennae that I've used in the comms specialists in my army. Thanks buddy!

Heavy Weapon Specialist (Lascannon) - Lothar Meginhard - kizzdougs

Kizz, I hope you like this guy. I tried to make him as big as I could, with the 40K devastator body that resembles MkIII armour, along with a MkIII pauldron and helmet with bionic eye. I hope you like him.

I hope you like them! C&C welcome, as always.

@Barrabas Sogalon: Is it really so bad to OD on plastic crack?

@tarvick: Dude, I had no idea you were a girl, and you make me feel like an ass for referring to you as a guy all this time. :furious: Thanks for liking the sergeant so much, though! :smile.: Steal away, btw. :thumbsup:

@hushrong: Ha! Glad you noticed them!

@Atia: Yeah, the boarding shields have a screen on the inside, and lenses on the outside, making it possible to completely hide behind them and still be able to see what's behind them. They're pretty awesome as a concept. :smile.:

@The hydra: Who says I can't have a unit of breachers in this army? :wink:

@MrBear: Now I'd love to say something to the effect of "Coincidence? I did my research." but that really wouldn't be fair. :wink: Also O&G army? What des that stand for? (Sorry if it's obvious: it's late and I'm a little drunk right now). Also, thanks for telling me about the mix-up. I corrected it.

@krokabei: Cheers buddy! Thanks for looking and commenting. :smile.:
