@Thrillhouse: Glad you like him, dude! Thanks for joining in. :smile.: And yes, early March there's a tournament where I'll be blooding my Fists. I hope to get a couple practice games in before that.

@Teetengee: 1: Ah I see. But remember, my army is 40K, where the Imperial Creed is entrenched into even the Space Marine chapters. Some don't quite see the Emperor as a true God per sé, but some among the Imperial Fists and their successors do. However, I'm kinda basing my army in 32K, where the cultures of the Templars, Crimson Fists, Executioners, etc and the Imperial Fists proper haven't really diverged that much. Hence, the many Templar and Executioner iconography on my boys.
2: Aha. Sorry, I'm dense like that. I never read anywhere that Astartes junk doesn't work anymore, though...

ok, yeah 32 millenium could work for that I think.

also, it has to do with lines about geneseed being the only chance for children

Not that big a fan of the red seargent's helmet; I think its a matter of contrast. The yellow usually contrasts very well with the dark metal and the black faceplates, while the red doesn't show off the details as well. On top of that his helmet is the only one to have a skull without wings, so there's less room to create that previous contrast you had going

Alright! I finished the last of the Razorbacks - and with that, my entire 1250 army is finiiiiiiished! Woot!

Here´s the pictures. I realize I haven´t taken pictures of all eight razorbacks (I might´ve skipped two or three) as they're pretty much all just yellow metal bawkses. I thought I'd show you this one though, as I'm quite pleased with the templar theme of this one.

Edit: Balls. This picture makes me realize I forgot to paint the metal caging over its headlights. I'll fix that, but won't take pics of it. Sorry!

I hope you like the tank. And, as promised, here's the last squad of scouts I still owe you guys:

III Scout Squad

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160210_023_zpsvbn1o92p.jpg

Sergeant - Mattias Zekkett - Marshal Mattias

Being rogue-ish by nature, Brother Zekkett rank as a scout sergeant was thrust upon him after completing the initiation trials. Scout Captain Tion thought it might teach Brother Zekkett some responsibility before he'd take up his duty as a brother in one of the Battle Companies.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160210_030_zpsj0zffury.jpg

Heavy Weapons Specialist -  Kodai Kagemura Brother Chaplain Kage

Kagemura's heritage as a hunter in the Hymalazian mountain ranges on Holy Terra has made him a natural long range weapon expert. The attention to detail and creativity that necessitated his old life, have contributed greatly to the squad's high succes rate in missions.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160210_027_zpsdbmla7rb.jpg

Comms Specialist - Ulrich Von Rusdorf dantay_xv

Acting as Kagemura's spotter as well as a communications specialist, Brother Von Rusdorf is a dedicated member of III Scout Squad. He is the child of an ore platform rigger on the North Atlantic Plains, who taught him the value of loyalty and tenacity.http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160210_036_zpsb4xsq64v.jpg

Battle Brother - Ebeneizer Brent Lord Thørn

Brent is among the rarest of scouts, in that his life was forfeit by his clan as an offering of tribute to the Imperial Fists. He survived their burning ritual, and this feat of strength and will brought him to the attention of the Master of Recruits.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160210_024_zpstpp0oeo1.jpg

Battle Brother - Iklas Teuronen Anthrawes

A constantly vigilant recruit, Teuronen is the sole surviver of the latest recruitment rounds. Genetic stock among the closest recruitment worlds of the Imperial Fists have been meagre, as a result fo the recent Ork invasions. Still brother Teuronen is determined to prove himself to his chapter to avenge the destruction of the Hive he called home.

Hope you like!

Feedback, as always, welcome. Thanks for looking.

@Pearson73: Cheers buddy! I hope you like the new scouts too. :smile.:

@Teetengee: On behalf of all ladies of the Imperium, I am sorry to hear that.

@SkimaskMohawk: The pictures do wash the contrast of the colours out quite a bit, but I see what you mean. I'll go back to the helmets and give them some brighter orange highlights to increase the contrast. Thanks for the valuable feedback.

@Knight of the Raven: I have no idea. Please enlighten me as to which Beast you are referring.

Edited by Augustus b'Raass

The Beast Arises is a newish Black Library series set 1500 years after the heresy detailing the rise of an ork empire the likes of which have not been seen again. Some of the stories feature fists quite prominently.

Do you ever stop?!

I guess not. ;) I just had a day off yesterday, so took the opportunity to paint the last tank. As I was waiting for paint and washes to dry, I worked on some other things, namely:

The new captain:

As much as I want things to be completely WYSIWYG in the list, brother Valten of IV Squad has a close combat weapon too. So I decided I'll just leave the power sword on him. I masked the inquisitorial rune on his scabbard, dremeled the holstered pistol away and replaced it with a BaC empty holster.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160213_004_zps15ry1jq4.jpg

A terminator squad.

Based on the BaC terminators, I wanted these guys to have Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields (they're going to be assaulting from a future (but already bought) Caestus Assault Ram). So I cut away the power fists from the shoulders and replaced them with INdomitus Patters strom shield arms and the FW Black templar shields.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160213_006_zpsrnnqzpmo.jpg

Their sergeant is based on the BaC Terminator Captain.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20160213_005_zpsj9ql6l64.jpg

And I also made some Imperial Fists themed objective markers, as I need those for the upcoming tournament.

@Teetegnee: Oh right! I'm currently reading 'I am Slaughter', and indeed the army is based on that time period. So it's probably located/timed right after the The Beast Arises period?

@Dizzeye: No worries, buddy. Antonias Dravan is recorded. Thanks for joingin in!

@sockwithaticket: Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it. And I guess not? I had a hobby-free couple of weeks, but the engine is running again. It's a diesel. ;)

ARMY SHOT

So glad with this army finally finished - and I love how they look. Actually can't wait to start unpacking it at the tournament (AnselNeo, hold it a secret still, please ). I'm also almost finished with the objective markers, but I'm going for a beer now. Goodnight!

And here's a shot of my entire painted Imperial Fists army so far...

@Dizzyeye: No worries, mate!

@War Angel: Hey, don't be dissing my man Ahnuld. Do that here. The heads btw are Astra Militarum Scion heads.\

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about! Great fists, great yellow, and great figure and fluff for Brent :)

That stark yellow gold fist on the scabard looks very stricking, I sort of hope you keep the same gold on black for it:)

Looking forward to the new captain.

And lovely army shot. It's hard to make me like Imperial Fists more than Crimson Fists.

Makes me want to make an army of Salamanders complete with razorbacks, but since I don't have room in my display case for any more rhino chassis, yeah. :tongue.:

Thanks everyone. It's weird being finished with the army - kinda like finishing a huge undertaking. This is the first time in my entire 'hobby career' that I've worked out a list and then collected and painted it. All my other stuff I did the other way around. Originally, I only wanted to do this 1250 list, but over the last six months working on it, I've bought quite a lot of stuff that I want to be yellow-and-black. The two metla tac squads (that still need drop pods), the Deredeo, the 'Thuddfire' cannon and the apothecary biker are all examples of this. I did them to get a little variation in the fairly monotonous job of going through eleven five-man squads and eight razorbacks. What helped me the most though, was the massive participation in the 'name a marine' thing I had going on. It pushed me to really give each and every marine some character. So massive thanks to all who participated in that!

Throughout the project, there's always been this voice in the back of my head that said "go Horus Heresy!", but I really didn't want to do another army of Space Marines. I considered doing Sons of Horus for a couple weeks, but I don't know. My aim for the coming months is to just do what I like in terms of the Imperial Fists, and prepare some Chaos miniatures for the ETL (gotta get that ETL Primus Inter Pares hat trick). I still have the six rapiers to do, a contemptor and a MkIV dread, as well as the terminators I've shown on the previous page, and their Caestus Assault ram ride. Perhaps I'll even paint the Typhon Siege tank I have lying around yellow! Although I originally bought it to join the midnight clad boys and be decorated in skulls, body parts, gore, and viscera....

I'm still planning on doing a month-long Arena event like last year. Still need to talk to Kurgan and Tyler for that.

For now, I'll show you the finished objective markers I prepared for the tournament. If I may say so myself, I'm extremely pleased with how they turned out. Especially the weird Angel-like servitor has turned out great - I always wanted to do it based on this picture, but wasn't sure how to fit it into my army - rules wise. Now it worked.

So here they are! They have the numbers one to six on them, either in Gothic or Roman numerals - which comes in handy with objective markers.

Numbers one to three:

Here's the individual pictures:

And numbers four to six:

Here's the individual pictures:

ALSO! I've started work on the Lucius Dreadnought Drop Pod. It's MASSIVE!

Closed doors:

Opened doors:

And to show you how massive it actually is, here it is with Brother Dantula of III Tactical Squad

Thanks for looking! I hope you like them and appreciate all feedback. It really kept and will keep me going. :smile.:

Replies!

@Thrillhouse± Thanks buddy! I'll definitely write up some succinct batreps for them. I have my first match Saturday the 27th.

@Scion of Ferrus: Haha my thanks!

@Kurama: No worries: temptation is not neccesary for that.

@guardian21: Cheers, buddy!

@Lord Thorn: That's a great idea! Definitely will do. :smile.:

@War Angel: Are you kidding me? I'm like a diesel. I just keep going.

@Flint13: Definitely. That's 440 free points, right there. Makes the army a lot more survivable and - by extention - powerful. Thanks!

@Knight of the Raven: Then make additional room!

Edited by Augustus b'Raass

How much do you cost?!? I need someone like you on my war staff... Lol

Edit, I love the way you did the objective markers. I'll be borrowing the numbering idea.

PSS, any advice to someone trying to pull off the same feat? Hell I don't even have a list.

Edited by War Angel

The army shot is awesome. I bet it's a great feeling having the army complete!

On a side note I never even noticed the Scout with my name on was completed. I'm such a numpty! He looks awesome, and his conversion is top-notch
