Grey undercoat and a first layer of pink airbrushed on. I made these guys years ago and just never got around to painting them!

I'm starting to think the reason Aeldari were so broken right out of the gate in 10th is that one of the rules writers saw this thread, watched you assemble their beloved elves in various states of desecration, and swore a pointy-eared oath of vengeance.

Change the text of the Strand of Fate army rule to "When you roll dice for any reason, change any number of those dice to a 6. When your opponent rolls dice, if their Faction is Heretic Astartes, change any number of those dice to a 1."

I finished airbrushing the pink on the plasma raptors and have started freehand and highlighting.

I got the highlighting finished on two in my lunch break, and shaded the pink on the champion.

The last were pink and green, with two flamers. This squad’ll be pink and purple, 2 with plasma gunners and the champion with plasma pistol and fist. And, as the second pic shows, the right shoulder is magnetised so he can also double fist for maximum fisting! It’s no longer a codex option but I care not.
 

I should be able to get another couple up to this point tonight. Once they’re all like this, then metallics, purples, decals, skin… still a way to go.

Oh and hair! How to do this guy’s hair…?

Anything Calgar can do, a Chaos champion can do with a jetpack strapped to his back.

Love the double fist pose (even it it isn't that practical/legal given the current rules) - as for hair, I think yellow or blonde would look best - he looks like a shonen protagonist, so deserves shonen protagonist hair.

Now starting on the purple trim. Oh god.

I remember I removed the trim from this squad’s left arms and legs not only for aesthetic reasons!

Not a lot of progress as I’ve been busy selling stuff on Mericari (CSM and IG and even some GSC I’d forgotten about), but have got the trim finished on four of the five raptors. I should be able to do the other tomorrow.

Love 'em! A thrown Dire Avenger head is about as metal a "counts-as-bolt-pistol" as it gets IMHO

I’d forgotten how much intricate trim CSM have, and how much detail newer GW kits have. Too much.

 

I got the skin done on the two helmetless raptors and did the blue on the Dire Avenger. They’re all coming along. I paint them in my lunch break at work. I’d best get started on basing, too.

Been working on the Dire Avengers today. The complete one and the…head.

 

aaaand I posted my Maulerfiend on Mericari today and someone bought it within about 20 minutes. I’d just put it back on the shelf after taking photos!

Your maulerfiend looks great - the model always looks so much better when repositioned to make its left arm actually doing something.

 

Great use of (what I assume are) dark elf masks - super creepy.

Absolutely stunning. I'm not a huge fan of the 'fiend models, but there's no way I could have resisted this if I'd spotted it in time. Hats off to you and your staggering portrayals of violent slaughter!

The masks are indeed from Dark Elves. Half my Daemonettes have the normal heads and half wear those masks, hence the fiend has some of each writing beneath its flesh.

 

With the Raptors’ lenses done, plasma done, most of the jump packs on…it’s feeling like the home straight now. Just hair, grenades. bare eyes, decals and basing to go.
