This is all looking class Midnight. Really great job on the Rhinos, and Abaddon totally looks the part now :smile.:

Glad you like, Abaddon is the one I am most looking forward to doing :)

All looking great! Especially like those Rhinos...just needs that final bit of weathering! Come around mine, pinch those paints & get it done!!!

Kicking ass and taking names for 10k years, at least now he looks it! Thanks for the comment :)

I have not had my paint brush out of late but I have built my Sicaran now (thought it was supposed to be easy!! The internet lies) got to remove a few more mold lines and tidy up the back (above the tracks) then I will be adding trim similar to my Land Raider.

I didn't find the Sicaran too bad but not the easiest kit with so many big and heavy chunks of resin! I also had problems with poor casting on the back of the tracks and above. Mine is part painted and I'm thinking I'll do some thick mud effect to cover up the defects!
Put it this way, it has put me off my Spartan!! In fairness it has went together alright, a bit of warping/gapping here and there and the part at the back is fixable. Looking forward to painting it!

Everything in this thread is legitimately stunning and you should be really proud of your work. The Bikers and Rhinos are by far my (painted) favourites though, there's something about them you just nailed. I love the sword on the biker leader.

Hey guys, thanks for the very kind words; it always means a lot to me :)

This month at my club we are doing a make yourself an avatar of, er, yourself where we build and paint a HQ for under 275pts which is quite a lot of scope. Here is my entry so far -

You may notice that he has the same head a that notorious Flesh Eater Voivode, Valek the Terrible, yes it is intentional. Valek is kind of the 'face of me' with my Flesh Eaters, so it seemed fitting to use the same head for this guy.

I have a load of fluff for this guy, he is the leader of the Black Harbingers Warband (part of the Hounds of Abaddon). A former Luna Wolf, the pelt and armour were taken from a slew Space Wolf Lord and worn not only as a reminder of that battle, but also of his own heretige.

The new Terminator Lord is indeed looking rather promising! I think the wolf pelt needs more work, though. Having used the same bit on my own Chaos Lord, I found it easier to attach that dangling paw piece to the back of the model at well, rather than trying to make it conform to the lines of the armour. This would also give you some extra room to move the head closer to the shoulder pad for a more natural look. Or you can always get rid of the head altogether, which is what I did.

Thanks for the comments guys, I know you two like your Terminator Lords ;)

Kraut - I can totally see what you mean with the head, and that front leg is problematic with its positioning. Here he is with the head lowered resting on the pauldron and the leg removed (I would have to trim it to position it over the back) obv gaps would need greenstuff!

With the front leg gone, kind of takes the attention away? I do want to keep the head though - former Luna wolf and also to wind up our Wolfy players :D

EDIT - I plan on adding a trophy rack above also

EDIT 2 - both arms are magnetized also at the elbow for a choice on load outs.

Excellent work buddy, looking forward to this progressing. What have you got planned for the trophy rack

EDIT

I see as well you've removed the original loin cloth. Whats your plans for there?

Edited by Biohazard

Oh yes, I definitely see why keeping the head would make sense! I think the important question is: Do you want to keep the body and cape as separate parts until after everything has been painted? if not, you could carefully shave down a bit of the left shoulderpad until you have a flush fit between it and the wolf head, then glue everything together and touch up any gaps with GS. As for the missing leg, here's how I attached it to the other side of the cloak on Lord Captain Lorimar:

The teeth around the lord's head are a rather beautiful touch! I do think that extra spike on the shoulder pad is a bit too crude and massive, though. Maybe you should shave it down a bit, especially at its base?!

The original loin cloth was at odds with the wolf Lord cape (Cheers to Griz for the idea, and I will be copying Krauts execution). I think I will go with the basic termi Lord mail, as it is in the general right direction without being to 'blowy'

As for the trophies, I won't be using Zhufors so as to differentiate him, just a nice selection of skulls and helmets me thinks.

Cheers again :tu:

Thanks Kraut, I agree with you on the large spike, on reflection it does look a tad, er, 'large'. I will have another crack at him later on tonight as well as shave down the pad. The cloak has such potential to be a cool part, as you yourself demonstrate with 40k Lorimar B)

You can always use single chain bitz to make your own loincloth, though. The stock one from the plastic Termie Lord can be awfully clunky, especially when used on a a FW model. As for the trophy rack, there are some fantastic back poles in the Wrathmonger kit! I think they would look great on your model!

Very true, I don't have one spare at the moment so haven't offered it up yet. I will get looking at the wrathmongers for the trophies (I have a few knocking about)

Also, the teeth on the gorget are from a Raptor/Warp Talon jump pack, chopped to fit. Glad you like :)

BTW it warms my cold heart that two great converters of Khorne Terminator Lords as yourselves have shown such an interest :tu:

Glad you like them, feel free to borrow as it is what I do all the time from your log :D

I am trying to make my warband fit with the Dark Vengeance aesthetic, daemonic faces on the armour, asymmetrical spikes/horns/teeth etc. I am going to green stuff a face over the Worldeater symbol on his shin me thinks.

He'll fit well with your Jugger Lord as well then. The face on the shin sound good. Look forward to seeing that. You're pretty handy with GS casting aren't you? Again have a look at the Blood Warriors kits. There's some really cool face/skull details on the gorefists especially that I'm going to try and add in and around my own warband.

That is very kind of you to say. But then there's almost nothing quite like a well converted Khornate warlord to get my hobby mojo flowing ;)

Runner the Khorne Lord's looking quite intimidating. I think the groin area is looking a little plain and agree a chain loincloth would help that issue.

You could use some hobby chain to make seperate segments, attaching each one under the skull and on the belt segments to either side. I did something similar with my pre-heresy world eater and while it was a pain at first to attach (also he was running forward, so I had to cover the chains in glue then hold the model till it dried allowing gravity to make them fall the right way), it worked out really well. Unfortunately I don't have any close-ups but hope this will give you an idea of what I'm on about.

Heresy World Eater WIP (1)

Regardless, he'll look great with whatever you plan to do with him.
