Had a go at a sculpted loincloth, with a Chaos Star hanging. Turned out not too bad for a first go! Icon from the Chaos Termi Sorcerer :tu:

I didn't want to just have a loin cloth as I want him to fit in with his Chosen, detail wise. Still needs a a little tidy up, but that's where he is for now :)

I think I might actually like this version better than the Jugger version! And I LOVE the Jugger dude. The chain and icon are nice touches and do help to tie him to the chosen with their millions of details.
High praise, thanks bro :tu: I think I prefer this version too, esp compar d to the first foot version. The icon and chain are out of the marauder kit, though I have added the extra chain so it hangs right however it still needs a bit of greenstuff at the top though to finish off, but had to go out and drink/eat/socialise (that order) so that's it for today :D

Love the additions! The position of the chain needs some very slight tweaking, as it doesn't seem to be connected to the belt right now.

Excellent work! And now, go paint the guy! ;)

Yeah, cheers for the comment bro :tu: I am going to green stuff some extra chain links as I think it will be too fiddly to add some more plastic ones but it will be done one way or the other :D

I would like to add a holstered pistol but I am struggling for space!

great work as always, reallllly love your powerweapons so jelous!

also might get some coolmshoulderpads i could share with you maybe, have a tip with cabels , when i domcabels i use strings from the music shop, eletric bas ;) but to bend them they are easyer to bend while long and also makes the curve smooth and without gaps, then cut them afterwards, just thoult it would make the helmet cables look a tiny bit better :) keep up the awsome!

You are right about that cable Thamier, it is kind of straight and looks a bit too 'stuck on'; I hadn't really noticed until you said and but now it bugs me!

Glad you like the shoulder pads, quite a way off before I get to your standard though :smile.:

Thanks for the comment

He is looking fantastic Midnight. where the legs difficult to repose? I have a conversion in mind but am not sure about cutting a set of legs apart.

Nemac

Thanks Nemac, glad you like B)

The Raptor kit is great for kit bashing and converting though some of the legs are easier to work with than others, especially for walking poses. For standing, with these particular legs, I cut the right leg at the hip and the knee. I removed the knee pad also as a new one is needed for the straight leg (I sculpted a replacement - I have even had a go at the trim since the last photo!) I ran pins in the joints and sculpted the soft armour over them. If you look, for Urkanthos' right leg more closely, I have also twisted it slightly to make the pose flow better with the 'hero rock' he is atop. I also altered the angle of his left foot slightly, and used GS in the gaps made.

Hope that helps! (I have made it sound a lot of work :D )

EDIT - Also since the last picture I have swapped the cable in his mouth for one of the aforementioned Zinge Industries ones, finished sculpting his mask and added some pins into the back of his head like the art work. The scars, as in the Jugger version, will be painted on :tu:

More soon, as I can hear the call......

Okay, so this happened!

I Midnight Runner, Despot of the Black Legion and Chosen of the Warmaster, answer the Call of Chaos and vow to complete Abaddon the Despoiler and 3 of his Chaos Terminators retinue before December 15th 2016. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Ultimate Deception and the Glory of the Legion, continuing on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!

Finally, FINALLY I will be painting the big man himself! The reason? Well I have been building an army dontcha know, and recently been focusing on ObSec, with my Cultists lined up now my Chosen were finished. Well, guess who just got ObSec with the new Warband Detachment? So Abaddon and Termies right to the top of the list in time for the call. I do have more Termies finished, but don't want to commit more as these will be plenty for me and a don't want to rush.

Did I mention my Chosen? Haven't posted any better shots so here are a few quickies closer up, not the best shots but here you go -

Really happy with them tbh, they are my first round of line troops and they also get used as basic CSM. Next up was going to be Cultists, but then the Warmaster demanded attention, so.....;)

Chosen look fantastic buddy. As do the Terminators with the Combi plas. I haven't sorted my vow out yet as I don't want to fail like I did last year but I have sooo much stuff to paint I'm just trying to prioritise. Looking forward to seeing Abaddon painted though. Will you be leaving him till last or batch painting along with his bodyguard?

Thanks bluntblade, Bio and Sgt. Blank for the kind words :tu: As said, I am pretty happy with how they turned out, despite it was a chore at times. Even now, I can see a few things that could be done but you could go on forever with these guys! So calling them done. Hopefully, yes they should be a decent unit in the table; as well as the Champion both Plasmaguns are also magnetized :)

@ Bio - I know what you mean, I am in the same boat drowning in little grey plastic men! I have tried to come up with a basic list to get through, Abaddon an the Terminators are at the top as I need more ObSec (would have been cultist otherwise!). I would suggest that maybe? It doesn't have to be a list you use every game, just one with your core units which tend to be in most lists.

As for Abaddon, he is getting painted first. He had been built for ages and was a present from my Brother at the start of the project :) The Termies still need a little greenstuff on the combi-plasmas too. And bases. I seem to have lost all my 40mm ones!

Once again, thanks for the comments folks B)

Cheers man! Got to admit I run them more often as CSM than Chosen really, but dems da breaks I guess. I prefer their look over the standard CSM and I am hoping they will fit in well with any new kits. Looking at how smart your Black Legion are, I expect your Chosen will be very special indeed :)

Mucho thanks guys :tu:

@ Race Bannon - it has taken me long enough to get round to it! Check the date in the first post *hangs head in shame*

@ Quixus and DSS7 - glad you like them :) I would've liked to have painted some osl on the marine too, but can't really because there magnetized. I painted them as follows -

1) Oaint the entire coil white.

2) Glaze with suitable orange all over, and apply a bit heavier round the bottom (I think I use Trollslayer orange)

3) Blend to the White, won't take too many steps as they are only small coils.

4) Glaze yellow (The old Golden Yellow I think I used) over Orange/White transition.

5) Re-apply the White to the top of the coil, this imho is the key to making the energ look 'hot'

They look prett good, esp from tabletop distance. The yellow was kind of an experiment, again to try to raise the temperature, and also to pick out the eye of the marines, eye of Horus and the power weapons.

NB - hope that makes sense, just finished 12he nightshift!

Again, thanks all, your comments are greatly appreciated B)
