Really simple conversion, just a Sternguard Combi-Plasma with the Chaos Terminator Chainbayonets/Powerblades attached, and a few spikes here and there. I also added the ammo belt to this one. They should look good when painted as I went for plasma for some fancy plasma coils like the Chosen dudes. For this guy I will also try a little OSL on the broken door on his base :)

I had hoped they would get their first fully painted outing with him last night using the new Black Legion rules, but unfortunately I couldn't make it to my club so no photos with their boss yet. Funny you should say that, I have been discussing it with Insane Psychopath and I do actually have plans on doing the whole of Justaerin as per Talon of Horus using Cataphractii armour and lots of greenstuff, but that is a project down the line. I do also have some FW Khorne ones in a box waiting assembly! For now though, regular Terminators will have to do.

 

Nemac - glad you like, I went with combi-plasma for two reasons; no 1) easier to get rapid fire shots off than Melta range when deep striking and more importantly no 2) they look cooler!

Cheers! I was a bit worried the plasma glow would clash with the power weapons, but it has formed a mid-point between them and the eyes. The Khorne guys will be toting melta though (three combi-melta guys and two twin lightning claw guys)

You know, every time I see a new power weapon pop up in your log I'm still in awe. It feels almost like a deja-vu, because I always think the same thing (which is damn) and want to sing the same praises over and over again. The plasma glow is a treat as well. Now I can't wait for a pic with them and the big man.

Ha, ha thanks man! Keep the praises coming keeps me motivated :D I do try to make a few glowy bits here and there as it looks good esp from tabletop distance. Not too much mind, and the Termies are on the edge of it but :cuss it they are elites :D The next two Termies have axes so more glow bits ahoy.....!

You are right with the gold, I use Balthasar as a base; I then wash it with Agrax Earthshade, followed by a dry brush of Gienhas Gold (spelling?). A very fine edge highlight is sometimes applied to hard edges using Runefang Steel and I use the Nikelhide Oxide around the rivets and bolts too.

Many thanks for the comments and like guys. I have been a bit quiet in here and had a bit of a break from 40k over Xmas. However, over the last week or so, I have enjoyed getting back into it culminating in my game last night.

 

@ Soric - yes my brother has a full gaming tables worth of awesome scenery as you will see when I upload some photos from last night. he is a really talented guy. His Ork army recently won best army at Throne of Skull (September I think?)

Here are some photos from the game against my brother on Friday as promised. His Iron Warriors are an amazing looking army, as is his gaming table and scenery. My unpainted stuff, while admittedly better than it used to be, still letting the side down.

 

We played long table edges which suited his big guns, and not my in your face army. I used Black Legion rules with the Traitors Hate Warband with Abaddon, Terminators and Bike heavy with a Juggerlord led CAD allowing access to FW goodies. My Bro used a straight Iron Warriors CAD with Rapiers, CSM and lots of troop Obliterators led by a Slaaneshi Daemon Prince together with a Renegade and Heretics list featuring Earth Shakers and lots of Lascannons, all very IW and all brilliantly painted -

I raced ahead early game on objectives, mostly due to kind cards but my army is also quite fast. Also, thanks to the über-boons of Traitors Hate, I got a Daemon Prince :D though he was promptly gunned down :( -

However, I rolled another 1 for Daemon Weapon roll not killing them off. Then, boom! Soul switch!

Daemon Prince swaps into combat with the Warmaster. I can handle this I thought......wrong! Roll a 1 on Drach'nyen! Leaves me on on wound to his two. As Abaddon was all I had left on the table come turn 5, straight to combat at least I may save face by putting the beat down on his Prince if I get lucky......wrong! Roll ANOTHER Daemon Weapon 1, yes that is right, that was five in one game! Game ends me tabled, Bro winning something like 12-11 VP too :D Great game but dayum, those big guns were brutal!
