Thanks!  Love your NLs btw, my NL stuff will be coming in sometime this coming week, a boatload of HH stuff!  Keep an eye out as time passes!  And here is a few pics of the same guy with a little extra work; drilled out bolter/plasma, slight repose, etc...

Also, small additional stuff specifically for a dreadnought and a single line trooper.

 

Dreadnought is not totally glued together, just little bits of putty to test positions, I need to modify the hand holding the helmet.  Also need to decide which colors to paint the helmet, thinking Astral Claws.

Basic tactical squad brother, no real conversions here, just removed the markings for DAs, I have 4 more of these to do, will make some modifications so they aren't all the same.

Ok, new Sternguard member, Combi-Melta, 75% done(held together with putty as well)...  And a Dread update, some simple stuff(thinking nearly almost complete, the right leg guard needing some sprucing up)...  Hope you like the direction!

Another SternGuard member, basic load, no combi-weapon.

 

Once I get the Stern Guard unit put together, I will probably start slapping some paint on them as well as the Dreadnought as a break so I don't get tired of painting any couple particular models.  Anyway, C&C welcome, and yes I know I need to drill out the weapon, he is not 100% in his final pose, still deciding.

Well thanks all, I will be hand painting the symbols Ono the places that I did a putty outline, on the regular smooth surfaces I may just try a decal, we will see!!

 

Glad you like the dread, I am proud of some o the little details, especially the chapter symbol! I am sick right now, the ks to the kids, bu will still try to do more work on these.

Decisions, Decisions.  I have to decide on the armament of the final two members of the Stern Guard.  I was thinking all of them would run around Combi-Melta, no point in taking meltagun and losing that awesome special ammo choice.  Plan is to drop pod them in or have them ride along in a Land Raider along with the Chapter Master until they are within 12" to destroy face.  I also need to do one up with a Lightning Claw when we do close the distance and get down and dirty. But then part of me wants to give one or two of them combi-plasma, maybe if I jump them up from 5 to 7 or something.

 

I am thinking I am going to keep my Tacticals as Plasmagun and the Sergeant with Combi-Plasma.

 

Any ideas?

I seem to be leaning that way, I just need to get a drop pod...  I think it would be fun with the Star Phantoms and having them use their "everything is twin-linked" Chapter ability once they land.  Combi-Meltas just ooze powerful weapons.  Thoughts on the Grav weapons?

Have to maybe magnetize some hands then to allow for switching out on a few of them maybe. Although I am pretty partial to melta and plasma. I will make a devastator squad later.

If you have them holding the gun in two hands, its pretty easy to just slot the gun into place and take it back out again. If you don't have magnets. Just make sure you don't lose the guns! :)



Your Dread is looking awesome btw, love the skulls/skeleton attached to the armour.

Hmmmmmm, I will have to keep that in mind, could work out well.

 

Glad you like the dread, I am pretty proud of it, especially since I hadn't done anything model wise in about 8 months. Question is, do I use my landraider on these guys or save it for my HH night lords? Haha

 

I also need to decide if I want my sergeant for the sternguard to run around with a lightning claw or a powerfist.

Hmmmmm, but but but... I like the way lightning claws look! But then I do like the way powerfists look too. Hmmmm I may end up with a guy who looks even more BA than my first powerfist guy(HQ guy). I will have to see

I have a powerfist pointing as if challenging(devastator squad one?).  I may use that one and create a custom combi-melta.  Maybe one worthy of Captain Zhurkhal Androcles...  Got to get my creative juices flowing.  I guess I can build him and allow him to be a Captain/Chapter Master or as a counts-as Zhurkhal Androcles?  I mean I would take the same armament, Combi-Melta w/Power Fist, so I guess that would work out.  Or I may just keep the one HQ I build already as that, and just  build this guy as a Sergeant.

If you are looking for cool conversions for combi meltas. One I have seen (and plan on using in the future) was by someone going by xenobiotic on heresy. You can google it to be fair. Looks very good. Uses one of the angelus boltguns and the combi melta bit from the command spree from Apocalypse.

Oh wow, found it.  I just have to find bits for that!  For now I will have to come up with something a little "less" involved perhaps.  We will see what I come up with though.  Thanks for that though, definitely another form of combi-"whatever" you can do, I am sure it could work for plasma, grav, etc...
