Forte glad to see you coming under the sway of 30k, just do it haha

Flint no prob, aim is to murder some IWs! Ya matching to the fluff is kind of crazy!

Good luck squeaky, cannot wait to see!

Sorry that the SPs are in the back burner for the moment furioso, but I am smitten by the NLs right now haha

Omg, the ten MkIII marines I am working on are killing me, on five of them the mold must have slipped a bit, the legs have such crazy mold lines and I spent about an hour just on them trying to carefully clean them up. Buuuut I do have 9 pairs of legs on bases with respective torsos, will start puttin them all the way together tomorrow and do a little green stuff work, well I kind of already started.

Will have to wait till I'm working again for starters. And I already know it'll be Night Lords. Possibly with a small EC detachment so I can use the squad I have already.

I will, I am waiting till may so I can enter a vow in the ETL! I may throw the base blue color on them just to get that part done since it seems that just counts as early stages of painting along with priming.

Just wait till they have all their appendages squeaky! ;)

Ok all, finished building the second tactical squad of ten. Well actually the second group of ten. I plan on mixing armor marks within squads just for variety within each of them. In any case, these guys are all gussied up and ready for the dance, the dance with 1000heathens and his Iron Warriors... msn-wink.gif

I will do the first five then the second five in the following post, too many pics. Note that the first pic of each is a full pic, the second or third may be much closer to show some kind of detail I added. Anyway, here we go:

I call this guy "The Bastard." Why? Because why would a super human in power armor need to make his mask even more scary?! Because he is a Night Lord. It might be a little hard to tell, but that is a very sharp edged mask over the MkIII helmet, mostly just over where teeth and brow of a skull might be.

Vexilla Bearer, showed a WIP of him before, but this is the final shots of him. Lone wing on the chest and a battered skull on his right pauldron.

Sergeant, you saw him already, no need to explain, but I did add a small fanged skull on his loin plate. I never said before, but it is obvious I am sure, a SoH helm was used, it looked adequately scary for his position with the chainglaive.

Mister, "I visited Luna in my lifetime, what have you done?"

Just leaning forward a bit, member number 5, his right side has two skulls. One on his pauldron, with lightning bolts emanating from beneath it, and a second one on his ankle/lower leg plate.

Slightly dynamic, he is on one foot.  His skull is on his right gauntlet.

Next?  The primer cometh and there are 10 Marines with heavy weapons(autocannons) waiting to be put together!

C&C always welcome!

Meh I think I will leave them, I had actually thought it looked like something they would do, firing from behind cover because NLs are about survival, well at least when fighting against other marines. When fighting against anything else I can see how your description of events works.

Large part of what my ETL vow will be:

I am excited to get started.  I have about 5 more regular marines to get assembled, 10 autocannon wielding heavy support members, 5 Raptors (I could probably make ten if I use the 40k Warp Talons box I have), a Land Raider and my Praetor (which I am trying to decide how to execute).  Although I think the Land Raider and Raptors will be on stand by until I decide how I want to go about working them bad boys.

I also have 5 Cataphractii...  Just undecided on them in terms of loadout, may just magnetize and get the close combat option pack for them as well.

Argh, so much to do!

Here he is, Gerlach, Captain of the 9th Company, 37th Chapter "The Shadow Sworn", VIII Legion

Known as "The Wraith," he is the current Captain of the 9th Company.  His deep understanding of the tactics and techniques required for PsyOps led to his captaincy.  An Astartes of few words, he is an adept hand to hand fighter and a terrifying presence.

His artificer armor is decorated with the bones of his foes.  His right kneepad has a fanged skull  Right pauldron is honored with the VIII Legion, and his left is emblazoned with the Legions symbol.  The ancient murder blade's scabbard on his waist has a lone wing decorating it.

Rules for him?

Praetor

-Trophies of Judgement

-Nostraman Chainglaive

-Iron Halo

-Archaeotype Pistol

Hope the sense of motion is nice, I love it!

Just need to add a few more putty decorations and a chain or two!

Love love love the Captain! His sense of motion is *perfect* and I really like how good you've made Night Raptor bits look on stuff that isn't Night Raptors! The little details of badges and campaign emblems are still awesome as well.

And I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the fact that the point where his hands connect magnetically is red, and the magnet almost looks like a little bone. That amuses me greatly, since it'll totally look like you're yanking his hands off violently. Every time you switch weapon load outs "OH DEAR FALSE EMPEROR! WHY!?!" Cracks me up.

Lol, that bit of red is a permanent marker I use to mark one of them magnets then let the other one stick to it so I can see that visually the two red sides belon together. Only useful for the early stages, but that is hilarious to think about haha.

I cut two sets of arms up to complete the arms and I cut the foot off the left leg to reposition and cut off the leg from the knee down and the foot of the righ leg to make it less like dancing. So now he has a forward leaning and anggressive stance as opposed to a dancing/dodging/fairy stance which FW gave him. Plus the Raptor body was too enriched with details for me to pass on it. But oh was I afraid of messin up while cutting the pieces apart!

Glad you like!
