Daemon2027
I was also thinking something similar for the Myrmydon's but was honestly a long way off making them. Can't wait to see how they and the new WEs turn out. Redemptor Nemiel
oh, man. those tanks are sexy. How well do the resin helmets hold the detail? Do you have any of them painted I can see? They come out great, here is a closeup:https://www.flickr.com/photos/89191953@N05/14137541426/in/dateposted-public/ You can eaven see the fanged mouth grill from the origninal WE helmet. Beautiful models. What colours and process did you use on the mechanicum tank please, they look awesome.I undercoat chos black spray and then drybrush 3 grey tones. First eshin grey, then dawnstone and at the end a little bit of fortress grey. The models then will look like these from a while back:http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Castellax02_07.jpg I try to drybrush on every black element a gradiant from pure chaos black to a very light grey. After that I will wash it with a 50/50 mix of Armypainter Dark Tone and water to darken it and to blend the colors togeather. Btw the new GW washes work not so good for this stage I relay recomend the old Nuln Oil or those from Armypainter. Now I add the decals and afterwords wash it with a black/brownish oilwash. And thats it __________________________ I started painting on the latest batch of World Eaters: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Sicaran%20Venator%2001%2006.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Sicaran%20Venator%2001%2005.jpg This is the result of a hole day of a painting marathon. All I managed to do was blue and half of the silver.. Things I didn't show previusly is the siege Cybot, the three new Butchers and a Praetor in Cataphractii. __________________________________ And for the Redjak Cult I build the frist Myrmydon Destructors: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Myrmidon%20Destructors%2001.jpg A very simple conversion based on the GW Kataphrons with original Powerfist and weapon from the destructors. I allso added those tentacle thingies from the Scyllax kit because those are also very characterfull for the original Destructors. I am planning to do two more and maybe a Kataphron based Magos.. Thank you for that, very helpful. I always use GW washes, I will try out some of the others. poom
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. Had a lot to do at work and went then for a well deserved holiday to spain. But it was not all work and relaxing I also could squeeze in some hobbytime. For one I went to a Horus Heresy campain weekend in Nürnberg, Germany. Here are some impressions: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Spiel1.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/post-20026-0-97904200-1441728020.jpg Agrel Tal + Khârn http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Spiel3.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/post-20026-0-84429700-1441728312.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Apo1.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Apo2.jpg For this event I also managed to finish some of the units I had been working for the last weeks: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Veteran%203%2008.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Veteran%203%2007.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Contemtor%203%2006.jpghttp://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Contemtor%203%2007.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Sicaran%20Venator%2001%2007.jpg http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Sicaran%20Venator%2001%2008.jpg The titan is also nearly finished, I only need to paint all the lenses and the banners. poom
Knight Errant "Mr. Krabs": http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Knight%20Errant%2001.jpghttp://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Knight%20Errant%2002.jpg So this is based on the Magaera Knight but with a second claw and the big Melta Cannon, to represent a Mechanicum Knight Errant. To give it a more unsual look and maybe to bring him more in line with Castellax and Thanatars, I put the Melta on the back, where usally the exausts come out. I also did some minor conversions by trimming of the gunshield and the lowest plate on the shoulders. Also did a prtotype for upcomming jetbikes: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Skyhunter1%2001.jpg _________________________ Also my Triaros got shown in yesterdays FW Bulletin: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/The-Forge-World-Bulletin/2015/09/21/Triaros-Armoured-Conveyor Very cool Seems like FW is keeping an eye on GWs Flickr pool. poom
I know this has probably already been asked but I can't seem to find anything. How on earth do you pain such a beautiful white? The white is very simple, the oil colors are doing all the work skull white spray undercoat 50:50 Water:Badab Black or Armypainter Dark Tone (the new GW wash, nuln oil does not work as good as those two) White drybrush Now just add decals and you are ready for the oils. For this I mix some brown and black oil color with a lot of white spirit and add it to the hole model. This oilwash will dry very slowly, so it gives you around 2 hours to manipulate the paint. You can use a clean brush to make streaks or remove paint where you don't want it. When the wash is almost dry I use some Oil based wheathering solutions from AK Interactive, which are basicly the same what I mixed, but with less thinner. I use "rust streaks" for a little rust effekt and "engine oil" to further darken some recess. Let it dry over night and paint some selected edges with skull white. Thats it On vehicles I skip the wash and aply the oil directly on the white undercoat. poom
So I read how you paint the white for your WE but how do you do the blood and the blue?  Curious. I am going to give this a ago. Sorry for the late answer.. the blue is ultramrines blue, washed with thinned down dark tone and then drybrushed ultramarines blue again. Then I add decals and wash everything with the oilwash. The blood is Tamya Clear Red with a bit of Chaos Black.  __________________________  I finally finished her...  "If wolves have a queen, this is she" Lion El'Johnson, sire of the first legion  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2002.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2001.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2003.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2004.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2005.jpg   http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2006.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2007.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2008.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2009.jpg   http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2012.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2013.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2014.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2015.jpg   http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2010.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2011.jpg  http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/pp282/PoomW/Legio%20Audax%20Syrgalah%2016.jpg  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288089-but-blood-blood-is-forever/page/16/#findComment-4214821 Share on other sites
