Thanks guys!

Fantastic mate you've no idea how happy I was when I found this thread. Lovely lovely work and cant wait to see more. I really like the red butcher captain. Its funny how something as small as the red shoulder pads can make a model look entirely different from everthing else. Simple but effective.

Whtas the recipe for your bronze?

It is all done by drybrushing and washes.. Base is Warplock Bronze, then drybrush lightly Dwarf Brpnze and after that Glorious Gold from Game Color. Wash with thinned Darktone from Armypainter. Then add a very light Runfang Steel drybrush and at the end wash everything with the Oilwash that goes over the hole miniature.

For a darker brass like on the scorpion I just leave out the Glorius Gold.

Where did you get that cape from?

That's brilliant work

It's Lokens cape, from the Abaddon vs Loken Character Series

This, Sir, is a totally awesome threat!

Great conversions, great WE style! I especially like the fact that you are showing off some skin *whooooo* ;) The small details you add on top, like changing the plasma pistol and helmet decoration on Khârn or the skull chains and hooks on the tanks.. It's awesome to see all the love you put into the details. Would be a joy to play with and against this army!

The brown metallic style of the dark mechanicum has an awesome flair as well! The orange ground makes a great contrast to the dark stompy robots. The skulls on the thallax heads are freakin awesome! No love for the old Magos, through. :D

Keep up the good work! So much love in here!

Thanks guys!

I'm a fan of maximus armor first and foremost, but when I see these iron-armored World Eaters... Oh yes.

The cogs must have been a nightmare to remove though.

They take some extra time, but I would not call it a nightmare, with a sharp knife it is not that bad.

I usually don't like to post pictures of painting in progress, but as these paintjobs will soon be burried under a lot of dust pigments I show them anyway...

this.  is.  amazing.

Thanks guys!

I recently got that crazy idea of upgrading my army to the Orbital Assault Rite of War.. so I took some of my old plastic Droppods, I build several years ago for a Marauder Space Marine army and bought myself at least on of each FW Pods:

To keep me motivated painting so many similar vehicles I pledged all this for the Casual 30k Hobby challenge and i am holding back the Assault Claws to be my first vow for the upcomming Loyalty & Trechery Event.

On a different note, I got myself a Leviathan and found the perfect use for the B@C Contemptor biggrin.png

I want to add now some chains with trophys and maybe some Etched Brass and then he is finished to be painted AFTER the drop pods. Realy hard to restrain myself..

I'm not generally a fan of "dead" models used as basing details, but I am diggin' that Leviathan strutting his stuff on top of an enemy contemptor.  (Maybe you could mangle the B@C contemptor up a bit though, and make it look like the Leviathan used that siege drill with its fabulous Wrecker and Armourbane rules on the poor bastard.)

Your awesomeness just never ceases, Poom. I love the idea of using a Butcher for your Praetor, he turned out great. That Leviathan promises to be too notch, I feel you on fighting the urge to throw paint at it as mine has been sitting here in queue for almost a week and I don't think I have the self control to wait...

Ok so I finished the Leviathan, I agree with The_Chaplain the B@C Dread needed some battledamage:

Instead of blood and guts, there are spilling out cables and oily fluids from the stomach wound devil.gif

Also I addad 51 decals to the droppods and they are now ready for the oilwash:

That leviathan is so boss.

I'm also digging the drop pods.  I am thinking of running my eaters as an orbital assault list.  Do you have any tips for applying decals?  I'm about to start that phase on my test eater and its been a loooooong while since i've embarked on transfers, lol.

It helps alot to use a decal softener, I have the micro set and micro sol from microscale industries. Especially when applying decals on curved places like a shoulder pad. Also, after it is applyed and dry I seal it with varnish from a can, so that the washes later will not flow under the decal.

Also I love the story where all legions are leaving Istavaan 5, only the World Eaters are still deployed in full strenght hunting down Corax and the last Raven Guard survivors.
