And on that topic, I would like opinions, as I am going to try to finish up vow two tonight. Should I use more conventional fleshtones for my khorne berzerkers, or something more exotic such as purple/green/blue?

Personally, more natural but reddish shading and warm tones. No pale flesh.

Vow 3 here, old mini of mine, never got past priming, time to finish it up.

I, Teetengee, answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete  from Codex: Chaos Space Marines: 1  Sorcerer with Mark of Nurgle, Jump Pack, Sigil of Corruption, Burning Brand of Skalathrax, and Gift of Mutation of total value 155 points on or before August 1st. Success will bring eternal glory to The Plaguefather and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end.

Haha this weekend, my GF is out of town to my in-laws, which means I have the whole weekend to paint. Also, I found a new house to move into! Yay! For some reason life is throwing all these nasty things at me this month, trying to not make me finish my vows and I've dodged them all like a boss within a week of them appearing.

Anyway, I finished the second Land Speeder just now.

A wet, but not dripping 3/0 brush and a 1/1 mix of VMA Light Sea Blue and WMA Barley Grey. Soak the paint in, roll the tip of the brush along a newspaper until the tip is fine and then patiently apply.

I have been sick and just didn't feel like painting. Then I tried, and my count's as Belakor just keeps falling apart. Finally finished one guy, and it looks horrible. Just horrible. Just not feeling well.

 

How much longer to we have left? Don't think I will be able to do what I said. :(

@ Teetengee: Well done! A great completion - I know a Skull God who would be pleased today! Completion and new vow registered!

 

@ Augustus: These are all looking impressive - especially considering the juggling act with all RL throws at you! What happened to Abby's eyes? ;)

 

@ HsojVvad: I suggest you make the model sturdy before you apply any paint on it... Putting the models together is part of the experience - don't rush it in order to get to the painting part - have fun with it!  If you're not happy with how the minis turn out try re-spraying them or even stripping them if you think the paint is too thick! ;) The event ends on August 1st but life goes on - we would like to see the results even post ETL! :)

Completed my vow. Not really happy with the wings though. Might be in for a repaint at some point, but not anytime soon.

So, time for a second vow: I ISM answer the call of ETL and vow to complete from codex csm a chaos dreadnought of the Iron Warriors with twinlinked lasguns and a heavy flamer (140 pts) before the 1st of August. If I succeed, I'll wear the ETL badge with pride, otherwise I shall be damned an wear the badge of shame until the end of the year.

looking good there to me @ iron skull mask,

if you wanted to add more detailing later to make them pop ,might i suggest a thin line of ice blue as veins to make them look like translucent skin
