ETL III - WIP - Rune Priest Sven

on this topic I will post my work for the E Tenebrae Lux of 2014.

 

My first vow consists of one wolf lord on thunderwolf with a thunder hammer, an storm shield and a wolf tail necklace.

as you see I have magnetized the thunderwolf to the base and the lord to his mount, this is done for transportation purposes

How are you thinking of basing these puppies?

Remember that you only get 5 vows, so since you are knocking them out quickly, you may want to make a bigger vow, and take more time to complete it.  I forget the completion date for the competition, but it seems like you get a total of 3 months....

not as of yet, still dont know what will look good and how to do it

I am in a similar spot. I know how important the base can be, so I'm worried about sucking.

I do something similar to this, it is simple and effective. plus if you have a lot to do it is easy to replicate. http://row40k.blogspot.com/2012/11/basing-your-miniatures-basics.html

Looks good, what one do you use?

Simple sand and bits of slate, based in black. Followed by dark grey coat all over. Then add a drop of white to the grey and put a couple of lighter patches on the base. After that just keep adding a bit of white to the grey on your pallet and dry brush the whole base lightly do this about 2/3 times with increasingly lighter grey. Finally a light dry brush with white and then a couple of light puddles of either black or brown wash. If you are interested I'll make a quick tutorial when I base my next model. Like I said it is quick and easy to replicate and brings the army together quite we'll.
