Thanks Kvlt :D, I literally just cut away both arms and replaced the Multi-melta with the powerfist from the kit, re-positioned the other fist and then used green stuff in the gaps (very large gaps) for both arms. After that I just placed the shoulders on top. The head is from the new kit also, there is a lot of head options :). I should have taken a photo of the back but he is undercoated now and the GS isn't really visible. Still, I'll see if I can get a good photo of it.

Small update just to say I have finished fixing Ragnar after the accident. I would like opinions on whether the arms not matching matters much? I seem to have misplaced some of the original pieces during the house move :(

The arm holding the sword is from the space wolves pack and the other is from the original Krom model which has a large cuff around the lower arm.

And I just about finished the Razorback, needs residue adding around the engine vents and snow on the tracks but you get the idea...

Thanks Raz, It was originally for my Death Guard but never got finished so decided to re-use it for the Space Wolves. That's why there is lots of skulls on top, but I kinda like them :D.

So I decided I wasn't overly happy with how the army looked as a whole and as I planned to add some Black Legion allies to this force I wanted a way to make them tie together a bit better. I have done a couple of test models - just basically recolouring a few things on two of the Chosen. The Black Legion will be much the same just the red and the black will obviously be switched around.

Ahhh yes, that is better.  Not quite as "cartoony", and more Grim Dark.  You planning in adding weathering? grime them badboys up a little! :)

Thanks Raz, I would like to, just gotta work out a way of doing it that I like the results. I will probably go ahead and dirty up the feet to start with. As for paint chips and general wear and tear is not something I've really done (well) before so I'm a little bit dubious about it. I hope to have the full squad up today Including Draznicht. After that I'll go ahead and start some Black Legion just to break up painting red all the time.

So I have finished changing the Colours on the Crimson Slaughter, I had to use a new cloak and sword for Sevastus.

So I haven't updated this in quite a while because I had a break from the hobby but I have recently started working on a few new things

I am currently working on another squad of Interceptors and after that I will probably finish the second Rhino. The backpacks on the interceptors are removable and just need to paint the standard packs for when using them as standard Grey Knights.

Thanks mate, yes I will be adding to these along with my Chaos. I'm currently working on another 5 Grey Knights and then I will be re-basing my Bloodletters to use in 40k. I've got so much Chaos to finish but have found myself a bit fed up of painting red :(

Thanks BrotherJim, the gold is fairly simple. Base Balthazar Gold, Layer Auric Armour Gold and Highlight Runefang Steel. That's it!

So It's been a while since I updated this WIP log, but thought I'd share a couple of things I'm working on.

 

I have finally received my order of two Rhinos, two Vindicators and two Chaos Space Marine squads and am going to get started straight away with 10 marines and the first Vindicator.

All of the Chaos Marines have Raptor shoulder guards because I was trying to tie them in a little better to the rest of the army.

Thanks Guys, I wont be adding the trim kits to the Vindicators I don't think, but will be adding them to the Rhino's. Not sure how they would fit on the Vindicators with all that extra armour but I've got a few spare pieces from the top hatches on the last Rhino so I'll try those out in certain places. Maybe just have a couple of pieces on the front and leave the rest bare?

 

I'll post a picture with them tacked in place. On a slightly different note, I've just picked up the Limited edition Codex: Crimson Slaughter for a steal so I am one happy wargamer :)
